Feature Updates
Many of you have already started using some of the enhanced functionality that we are gradually releasing under our brand new Wrike Lightspeed experience. Starting today, you will see a new toggle in your settings to enable the whole new experience in your individual account. When the toggle is enabled, you'll get the new navigation, new Board View, new Table View, and new Work item view โก๏ธ Try it out and be sure to let us know what you think in this Community thread!
- Automation - Two New Actions Added 2๏ธโฃ
There are two new actions in Wrike's Automation! They are called Duplicate item and Duplicate as subitem and they do exactly what their name says ๐ This will be a welcome update for those of you who rely heavily on templated items.
- Automation - One of the Triggers Updated ๐ฅ
The Direct subitem statuses change to trigger got an update - you can now select if you want the rule to work when not only all subitems' statuses change, but also when the status of any of the subitems changes! This is a great enhancement for data accuracy and reporting and allows to sync the data between subitems and parent items.
- Wrike Assistant - Smart Help Search Added ๐
We've made our search in Wrike Assistant even better:
Before: you entered the search query and were redirected to the Wrike Help Center to see search results.
Now: we added smart suggestions into the search field - when you click on them you would be redirected to the selected Help Center page.
- New Table View - Mass Editing Cells Added ๐
You can now use the drag-fill option to mass-edit cells in the new Table view. It works the same as it did on the "Classic" Table view. Just pick a cell, drag the dot which appears and there you have it.
- New Table View - Multi-Cell Copy and Paste๐
You can now copy/paste multiple cells all at once. The functionality works the same as in the old Table view - use keyboard shortcuts for that (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V on Windows and Cmd+C, Cmd+V on Mac).
- Custom Item Types - Set a List of Item Types During Space Creation ๐
When creating a blank space, you can now select which item types will be default for this space. It is possible to replace default tasks/folders/projects with custom item types as well as just add additional options to the existing list.
This way all users will see the options you pre-selected when they try to create a new item.
- Work Item View - Small UX Improvement in the Description Field ๐
We have recently made it possible to change the width of the Work item view, and now the toolbar is adjusted to the view size (all the options are still there, just hidden). It works the same as in the task view (or project/folder info panels).
- New Toolbar - Share Space Button in Header ๐คฉ
Not so long ago, we added the Share button for spaces in the classic navigation. Now, a similar button is available in the new toolbar. Clicking the button takes you to space settings where you can add members to the space.
- Assigned to Me Available in Sidebar on Team Plan ๐
Now, users on Team plan can open the Assigned to me section using the button in the sidebar. The section displays the same tasks as the Assigned to me widget on the Home page.
Fixes
- Not Possible to Set Zero Value in Numeric Fields
In Work Item View and New Table view, when some of you tried to enter "0" in a numeric custom field (percentage, currency, number), the value wouldn't be saved. Now it's fixed ๐ง
- Approvals Not Started When Creating Custom Item Types From Request Forms
When using approvals with custom workflows (starting an approval upon status change) the approval process would not start if the status was applied to a custom item type created via a request form. Now fixed โ

On the new table view I am still missing (correct me if I am wrong)
*drag-fill option appears only when just a new value is applied and not when just selected the value that was already applied

Love that you have tied up so many of the loose ends we have talked about in recent posts. Personally thrilled to have the mass edits back in table view! I had to use both tables because I use the mass edit all the time, but love the new table look.

Hi Wrike team.ย Was the new Home page removed from LightSpeed?ย We are no longer seeing an option to get to it (including clicking on the company logo).
Also, do you have definitive date/time period for adding the email to task permalink into the Work Item Views (new task view).ย This is a big sticking point with using LightSpeed for many of our users as this is no longer available.

after turning on lightspeed I miss the project settings for "enable date rollup" and "task based progress" ... Is it now somewhere else ?ย

It would be a big plus to have the ability to add the action to set the due date in 7,10,15 or 30 days when a new task is created.

Michael Kelley Yes, as we mentioned in this post, with everything available in the sidebar, we've eliminated the need for a Home page, allowing you to jump right back into your work. Plus, we've made it even easier for you by remembering where you left off when you closed the workspace last time. Customisation of the sidebar & view header allows for a cleaner and easier experience. Hope it's helpful!
In relation to the email integration, it's planned to be added soon. We'll keep you posted!

I've noticed that "Owner" has been changed to "Assignee" at the project level in Lightspeed.ย Curious to know what the reasoning behind the change of labels. There is potential here for confusion as to who "owns" the project vs who the project has been "assigned to" for managing it. ย Can Wrike either consider using Owner/Assignee or deliver a secondary field for Owner.
I totally agree.ย We use owner and asisgnee diffrerently.ย We need both.

Hi Juan, this WILL lead to confusion.ย That is what is Al was saying above.ย There is a HUGE difference between an Assignee and a project OWNER.ย Can you please take this concern back to the Wrike product management team for review.ย
If Wrike is going to arbitrarily make changes to delivered field names, at least give the customer the option to override them with one that works for our reporting purposes.

Totally Agree!ย We used them differently.ย The owner is the project owner, multiple assignee complete the various tasks.ย ย

Hello,
We feel the same at our organization. We have project owners that are responsible for the entire project, as well as different task assignees that are responsible for doing some aspect of that project. The project owner has further responsibilities for keeping the individuals assigned to various tasks with the info they need, final reporting, etc. We definitely operate around the differences of these roles.

I am setting up Owners as Assignees on the Project level, and keeping Assignees on the task level. I think that might work. I will test it out in my Analytics Boards later, but I believe you can differentiate between Project Assignee and Task Assignee. That should do for us. Hope this helps!

The display density options are not available in new table view. Looking to see the 'full' display in new table view format - am I missing something or is that feature missing?
