[Status: Launched ๐] Hyperlinks in discussion
Hi,
I was wondering why there is the ability to add Hyperlinks in the description field of a Task/Folder/Project but not in the discussion area?
I know you can paste links in but would be useful to create shorter hyperlinks to docs/websites here as well especially if the discussions get quite long.
ย
Hello, please add a hyperlink feature in the comments of Wrike if there is not one already!!ย
Hey everybody, thank you for the feedback! It's been passed on to the Product team.
This is 2020.ย The fact that we can add a hyperlink in theย Description but can't add a hyperlink to theย chatย (heck... I can even add a hyperlink here! http://espn.comย ) is unacceptable.
ย
I work in software development.ย This is a software issue.ย FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY!ย Have this Story/Issue thrown into the team's next Sprint, and get this resolved IMMEDIATELY.ย It can't be that many points of effort... and the return/value is TREMENDOUS!
Hey Josh Merkle,ย thank you for the feedback here, it's been passed on to the Product team.
I don't have an update for the status of this suggestion at the moment. If anything changes or new information is available, I'll be sure to let you know.
When will this be implemented?ย
It's VERY IMPORTANT and can save TONNES of time.
Hi KIERYN HYDE, thank you for your feedback! It's been passed on to the team. I don't have an update for you at the moment. If anything changes, I'll be sure to let you know.
Adding my vote for this as well. No reason why it hasn't been added afterย years.
How complex is this to add?
@...ย I can see you've passed this along to your product team, but you should be able to get some sort of response (especially after a couple years) and communicate it here if acting as a liaison between the community and the Wrike team. If not, there's a gap that should be addressed internally.
Hello Jared Maltz, thank you for your vote and feedback here!
The team doesn't have this on their short-term roadmap, but we continue to pass on the feedback and the number of votes here to help the team plan their work.
We'll be checking with the team again in the coming months, and as soon as we have any updates, we'll make sure to let you know.ย

Lisaย That is not a helpful reply.ย If this isn't on the short-term roadmap, then let's get it on.ย This can't be that difficult.ย Why we can add bullets and use hyperlinks in the body of the description (and even here in the Comments section on your website), but NOT in the 'Discussion' section is ridiculous.ย This cannot be a story worth that many points.ย Can we just get this done already?ย This is a small feature that would GREATLY improve the quality of life for everyone.
Literally NONE of these replies are helpful. We are just being ignored.
And it ISNT a difficult feature to add. Maybe its time to change products.
Agreedย ๐
I'm sorry to hear you're disappointed, KIERYN HYDEย Josh Merkle. We have a process established on our Community regarding Product feedback, please check it out here if you're interested. And here's a post explaining what happens to Product Feedback. Please rest assured that all feedback here is passed on to the team and isn't ignored even if it is not always possible to launch a suggestion.ย

Lisa that still is not a reassuring answer for us, or one that helps sway our thoughts.
If anything, what you shared only emphasizes our point that we are and this is being ignored.
Looking at your Product Feedback articles, it appears it all comes down to a numbers game between votes and comments.
We just simply don't have enough to warrant action.
I would assume having 60+ votes on this feedback would be a start.
I will have my entire team upvote this, and would encourage the other teams in this thread to do the same.
What's unfortunate beyond everything else, is that this is a QOL feature that affects everyone on the platform in a positive way.
For this to beย ignored for years, is disheartening. Especially looking at some of the updates Wrike has pushed out in comparison.
ย
Jared Maltzย is right on the money.ย The previous reply from Lisaย was not at all reassuring.ย In fact, it actually emphasized that our voicesย areย being ignored.ย Jared is 100% right... this is a Quality of Life feature that literally affectsย everyoneย on the platform (in a positive way)... yet... just because enough people don't know about this stupid article on a help site and it doesn't have 60+ votes it's not going to get any attention.ย Where's the Wrike Product Managers who can step in and make a product decision to incorporate this story into a sprint.ย We can't be talking about that many points here.ย The ability to hyperlink is already supported on the platform... we're literally just talking about adding the feature to a different area of the system.ย It cannot be that much work (as the work should already be done/coded).
Once again we being ignored and getting sent to an article that does nothing to solve the actual issue. Are we talking to people that actually care? Or just automated robots that know nothing about their own product? Do you have a UX team that helps to develop your product? Or is it a case of, once its done we will pimp it out as the best thing ever then watch the money roll in and not care about our customers? WE are your UX team. We are giving you direct feedback without you even lifting a finger. Its NOT hard to do. Help us.
Hello again, Jared Maltzย Josh Merkleย KIERYN HYDE! I'm truly sorry that I can't answer differently than that this is not in the team's plans this year. It doesn't mean that the team isn't listening though, and it also doesn't mean that this will never be released.
We report all the feedback in posts and comments, as well as the number of upvotes that help the team assess the popularity of different suggestions. We also check in with the team regularly to see if there are any updates. To quote our post titled "What happens with Product Feedback",ย we just can't release everything. Sometimes what one person asks for conflicts with what someone else needs.ย Sometimes it's just not the right time,ย or,ย as amazing as a request is,ย adding functionality would weigh down the Workspace. The team also has to prioritize over different factors and different feedback channels.ย
I hope this gives you a perspective on why the team doesn't release everything that's been asked for here. At the same time, please rest assured that I'll continue to pass on your feedback and ask for updates. Once I have news for you, I'll make sure to let you know.

I'm sorry. I truly mean no disrespect, but this is just a garbage response.ย I get it... so if a 10,000 ppl upvoted a monkey flinging poo request, then the Wrike development team would implement it.ย I mean, it's just nonsense.ย The fact that I can leave a link here within this FREE post, but CAN'T do so in the Comments section of your ENTERPRISE SOFTWARE APPLICATION is downright maddening & an embarrassment.
So, if 3 ppl have a revolutionary idea (not calling this a revolutionary idea, but rather taking your logic as an example) that will greatly improve the quality of life for your customer base, then by your response, because it only has 3 ppl behind it you're not going to proceed with it.ย Mind you... we're not asking you to re-create the application from the bottom up.ย We're asking you to include a freaking hyperlink in your Comments section.ย MAKE IT MAKE SENSE
Honestly... a no answer / no response at this point is BETTER than the responses your team has given.ย Honestly.ย ย
ย
"Sometimes what one person asks for conflicts with what someone else needs."
How does this ask conflict with what others need?!ย MAKE IT MAKE SENSE PEOPLE!

I feel like we'd get better responses on Reddit. Then again, much of the community there talks about how "buggy and non-intuitive" Wrike can be.ย
It's a bit sad. After coming from a large company that actually had reps from Pinterest and Facebook fly in to discuss functionality of their products with me personally (and actually IMPLEMENTING my suggestions) I've lost hope that Wrike could be depended on for minute asks after seeing this post.ย
Something this simple should be a quick fix. Not a popularity contest.ย
๐ 3/10 Would not recommend.ย
Hello Josh Merkle,ย Amanda Carr.ย ย
Weโre sorry to hear that youโre disappointed here. I totally understand that it can be frustrating when a feature youโd like to see rolled out is not planned. However, as Lisa mentioned above, this doesn't mean it will never be rolled out.ย
As outlined previously on this thread, there are various factors we need to consider when deciding what to implement into our product and due to this, we simply canโt launch every feature. I can however assure you that your feedback and insights here have been taken on board and shared with our Product team.ย
If there are any changes here, or if you need assistance with anything else, please do let us know.

Sounds like you just copy and pasted another canned response.
Please stop treating your customers like idiots.
Please tell us there's at least a 'work around this issue' with the "code" or "code block" feature when you highlight the word, at least. If not, what are the purpose of those? Thanks.
Somewhere, someone in a meeting failed to bring this up as a basic feature when it was being developed in the first place. I would say that I am amazed that this slipped through the cracks when it rolled out but it also took Asana like 4 years to add this feature. Meanwhile, it's been a feature in forums for the better part of 2 decades.
Hear hear Skyler Reeves.ย Hear hear :applause:
I agree with everyone on this board. Please add this very basic feature. I love using Wrike at our agency, but having to paste super long url strings to shared documents in the comments of each task kind of ruins the user experience and it looks really unprofessional to boot. It's literally the only time that I feel like I'm using an inferior product. Hopefully we get some more people on board this issue to help push closer to the front of the short-term roadmap for their developer team.ย
Welcome to the Community Mark, and thank you for sharing your feedback here! I'm passing it on to the team now, and I'll let you know here as soon as I have an update.ย

Markย - Don't get too excited, we've heard that response 5x now ... and yetย stillย nothing has changedย ๐
At this rate, we'll probably hear the same message again ~ Jan 17 2021 or end of February or March.
Going back to the original post, this issue has been open sinceย Sep 2018 (!)
Yeah, always the same response for years... It's unfortunate.
Hi everyone! Sorry for the late reply here, I needed to check with the team to see if there are any changes regarding this request. Unfortunately, for now, the team isn't planning to work on hyperlinking in the comments section. I'll continue to pass on your feedback and the vote count aka the amount of interest here though. Thank you for showing your support here, and I'm sorry this is disappointing news.ย

Lisaย this issue has been stewing for approaching 3 years, can you confirm that it is still not on roadmap in terms of having a delivery date?ย Can you please point to a list of features that have deemed by Wrike to be more important than this basic feature?
