๐ŸŽ Releases - Things Just Got Faster and Easier to Find (11/14/2022)

Feature Updates

  • New Sidebar - Mini Version Opens When You Hover ๐Ÿš
Accounts with the new sidebar (a.k.a. any on Team plan, and those who've enabled it from Labs ๐Ÿงช) can now expand it just by hovering over its icon or moving their cursor all the way to the left side of the screen. The version which appears with a hover also only takes up the space necessary to show its content, so you can see more of your workspace ๐Ÿ‘€
ย
We've also improved the Pinned section in the sidebar, until now if you pinned an item you still needed to hit refresh before it would appear there. We've sped things up and made pinning almost instantaneous - no refresh required ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ“Œ
ย
We've been speeding up all sorts of things this week - in New Board view you can now use a quick filter panel. You might have New Board view because you signed up for Wrike recently, you're on Team plan, or because you enabled the functionality from Labs - find out more on our New Board view help page.
ย
This means when you click on the filter icon, instead of the full filter panel opening, you'll see the quick filter panel which appears in most of our views. It includes your filter presets, shows which filters you're currently using, and still gives you the option to open the full filter panel by clicking Add more filters...

  • Workflows - Edit Them From New Places โœ๏ธ
We know a lot of you rely on customized workflows to make Wrike an efficient workspace for you and your team, so we've made it easier to edit them. Until now, you could only change them up from your account or space settings, but now you can find a handy Edit workflow button in all these convenient spots:

-Work item view (click on the item status and find the button in the menu which appears)
-The right-click menu of an item in Table view (right-click the item's status and look under Change status) or List view and Dashboards (under Mark as)
-The mass actions panel in List view (under Set status)

Keep in mind, you'll only see this button if you have the right to edit the workflows in the relevant part of your workspace, and if your plan is Team, Business, or higher.
ย
  • Wrike & ShareFile Integration Sunset ๐ŸŒ…
Our ShareFile integration will be discontinued on November 16th, 2022 due to minimal customer engagement and usage. We have informed all affected users, but please feel free to reach out to your Account team if you have any questions. We also recommend checking out the Cloud Content Connector that we introduced earlier this year. It allows you to integrate Wrike with any digital asset management tool or cloud storage through API.

Spot On Innovative Approach Stellar Advice

I am not sure if I like the new hover menu - I think not. Is it possible to turn it off? I am using three monitors with Wrike in the center monitor. So if I go with mosue from left monitor to center always the hover menu opens and most times I do not want it. It is good that it opens when the mouse is over the hamburger menu but with hovering the side of the screen it is disturbing.ย

Cally Tomlinson ok after some minutes using it I now know, I hate the hover menu.ย

Please try it yourselfe: go to the list view and try to open a subtask (try to klick on the arrows marked red in my screenshot). In more than 50% of my tries the mini version opens and disturbs my work. So please turn it off, with this menu list view is not usable anymore. Also other views this is much too dense and disturbs work.

Hi Sven Passinger! Thank you for sharing your feedback! You can disable the new sidebar and toolbar in Wrike Labs.ย

Lisa I know that I can deactivate it. For me it is important that your engineers know that the new feature should better not be released as it is disturbing the usage of Wrike significantly. That in Wrike Labs activated features are possibly not working well is clear as the are under testing.

I'm already in love with the new mini sidebar with hover! <3

But I agree with Sven Passinger about the usability. I think it should be activated when hovering a few pixels more to the limit of the screen, maybe keeping a colored bar with a few pixels signaling the hover area can be an alternative too.

Agree with the team here - I like the hover feature too - but it needs to be slightly recalibrated, like what Neyl mentions, by at few more pixels, or adjusting the hotspot.ย  Many other core Wrike elements - such as expanding a subtask, dragging/dropping tasks on a timelime are all on the left-hand side, so if it keeps hovering open it can make it frustrating.ย  I would recommend - allowing the hover functionality to only work as a smaller hot spot in the uppermost left corner (say above filters/sorting/Task name etc) - just not in the main "working" space area

I turned off the sidebar feature almost immediately after I turned it on. I lost the quick filter menu in the list view, so I couldn't switch between viewing active and all tasks. That's a deal-breaker right now; seeing all that clutter got overwhelming fast. Generally speaking, I like the idea of being able to get one click access to things again, but I'll be waiting a while to turn it back on.

I like that quick mini sidebar but as others mentioned it is frustrating when you want to expand tasks. Please fix this asap
