Streams are available on all Wrike accounts, except for Team plan.
There are three types of streams in Wrike: the Global Stream, Stream view, and Activity Streams.
The Global Stream, which is accessed through the sidebar, displays updates for everything that has been shared with you. The Global Stream includes information on new comments or approvals, changes to descriptions and statuses, rescheduling of tasks or projects, etc.
The Stream view of a space, project, or folder shows updates related to tasks and subtasks that are included in the selected space, project, or folder or in its descendants. This view also shows changes made directly to a project or folder.
Note
This isn't available for users on Free accounts or Collaborators, Contributors, or Viewers on any account type.
Located in a task, folder, or project's Item view, Activity Streams show updates related to that particular item, as well as new comments, attachments, or changes to the description field. New updates are added to the bottom of a task, folder, and project's Activity Streams.
-
The item's stream is shown under the description field when open an item (task, folder, project) in the item view.
-
If multiple changes are made to a task, folder, or project, then you'll see the option Show more updates.
-
Click a task, folder, or project’s title in the stream to open the related task, folder, or project.
-
Activity Streams can be filtered.
-
If you change an item's value (such as status, assignee, or date) and then return it to the previous state within 6 minutes, this change will not appear in the Activity Stream.
-
When changes are made to more than 50 items at once (e.g., mass editing or deleting), only the first 50 will have the update listed in their Activity Stream. Updates to additional tasks beyond the first 50 will not be recorded.
-
When you import, duplicate or create from blueprint, this action is not recorded in the Activity Stream of the created item. The stream records start with the first user actions in the new item.
-
Updates to dates that occur automatically due to changes in task dependencies (such as shifting a dependent task or rescheduling a predecessor) are not recorded in the Activity Stream.
-
Modifying task effort or changing job roles for assignees (adding, removing, or replacing roles) is not recorded in the Activity Stream.
Activity stream widget brings real-time updates directly to your dashboard. Use it to monitor changes, comments, and progress on tasks, projects, and folders all in one place. This helps you stay on top of your team’s work without switching views.
-
Navigate to the Dashboards tab 1 in the sidebar.
Note
If you can't see this option in the sidebar, click on the More button 2 in the sidebar and select Dashboards from the list.
OR
Select the dashboard created under the Tools section 3 in a specified space.
-
Click the + Widget button 4.
-
Choose the folder, project, or space you want to monitor in the Data source tab 5.
-
In the sidebar, select My Work 6.
-
Click Activity stream 7 from the widget list.
The widget will be added to your dashboard.
With the Activity stream widget, you’ll see recent updates, comments, and status changes for items in your selected location. You can view who made each change and when it happened, and you can click on any update to open the related task or project directly.
In the Dashboard view, hover over the Activity stream widget and click the icon to switch to full screen mode.
To duplicate, share, or delete the widget from your dashboard, click the three-dot menu button and select the option you need.
-
Folder/Project Duplication/Import
-
When folders or projects are duplicated or imported, this action is not shown in the Stream.
-
Only subsequent actions (e.g. share/unshare) in the new folder/project are shown.
-
-
Permanent Deletion from the Recycle Bin
-
If an item is erased from the Recycle Bin, this event does not appear in the Stream.
-
-
Mass Deletion (more than 50 items at once)
-
Only the first 50 items have their deletion recorded in the Activity Stream; deletions of items 51+ will not have deletion records.
-
-
Date Changes via Dependencies
No Activity Stream records are created for:
-
Adding a dependency.
-
Rescheduling a predecessor, which changes the successor's dates.
-
Shifting the dependency chain.
-
-
Transient Changes (quick revert within 6 minutes)
-
If you change an item's property (e.g. mark as Completed, then revert to Active) and then revert back to the original state within 6 minutes, this series of changes is not shown in the Activity Stream.
-
Note
When a Completed task is reopened, marked Active, and then quickly marked Completed again, the Completed date still updates to the current time without creating a new record in the Activity Stream.
