Creating Analytics Boards From Templates

Overview

Regular users can create and view analytics boards. External users, Contributors, Collaborators and Viewers can only view analytics boards shared with them.

You can use one of the available pre-built templates to create a powerful analytics board instantly or create one from scratch.

Available templates

There are five templates based on the Wrike Core data model, one template based on the Utilization and Performance data model, and one that combines both data models:

Wrike Core

Project Portfolio Status shows comprehensive information about the status of the project portfolio, including:

  • KPI widgets showing the number of active and overdue projects, completion rate percentage, and a number of active tasks.

  • Breakdowns of projects by status and owner/status.

  • Pivot table with detailed information about the project.

Project Status shows comprehensive information about the status of one or multiple projects:

  • KPI widgets showing the number of active and overdue tasks, completion rate percentage based on the number of tasks, and their duration.

  • Breakdowns of tasks by status and owner/status.

  • Project burndown chart.

  • Calendar widget showing the number of completed tasks by days.

  • Pivot table with detailed information about tasks.

Productivity Analysis allows you to review how effective the process is and where the bottlenecks are:

  • Tasks created and completed this month, with a comparison against the previous month.

  • Average completion time this month versus last month.

  • Average time tasks spent in certain statuses (as Area Chart and Pivot Table).

  • Top status changes (as Bar Chart and Pivot Table).

  • Details on every task with regards to how much time it spent in statuses.

Sprint Overview shows information on team progress within the sprint:

  • Sprint scope.

  • Percentage of completed tasks.

  • A total number of tracked hours for the sprint.

  • Progress in effort and story points.

  • Tasks created and added to the sprint after its start.

  • Burnup and burndown charts showing progress.

Agile Velocity enables you to see the average values to plan your team’s work more efficiently:

  • A total number of completed sprints.

  • An average number of completed tasks, story points, and tracked hours per sprint.

Utilization and Performance

Utilization and Performance shows how much time each employee tracks, how much effort they have assigned compared to their capacity, and allows you to monitor the team workload. With this template, you will build widgets showing:

  • The total capacity of the team member for the selected period of time (week, month, custom dates).

  • Planned and actual effort.

  • How much of the total time is billable.

  • Which categories of work take up most of the employee’s time.

Combined

Capacity Planning helps you plan your team’s work more efficiently:

  • An overview of capacity and effort for each job role on your team.

  • A breakdown of availability and effort for specific people and projects.

  • A prediction of team utilization for the upcoming future.

Create an Analytics Board from a Template

  1. Navigate to the Reports section 1 in the sidebar.

    Note

    If you don’t see this option, click on the More button 2 in the sidebar and select Reports from the list.

  2. Select the desired template under Analytics from the list of options 3:

    1. Project Portfolio Overview

    2. Project Status

    3. Productivity Analysis

    4. Utilization and Performance

    5. Sprint Overview

    6. Agile Velocity

    7. Capacity Planning

  3. In the pop-up that appears:

    1. Change the name of the board (optional) 4.

    2. Select the space where it belongs 5.

    3. Add the projects, folders or spaces that contain all the required information to create a board 6.

  4. Click Create 7.

The created board is opened.

Alternatively, you can also create an analytics board in your space by clicking the + icon 8 next to Tools under Space Overview in the sidebar, then selecting the Analytics Board 9 from the drop-down menu.

Tip

Next, you can customize the created board by adding new widgets or by applying additional filters.

Top
