  • Search - Quick Search By Comments
We added a new section to the quick search panel called Comments in Tasks. It shows tasks that have comments containing words from the search query.

The New Free basic plan is out and, starting today, it's available to all newly registered accounts. Accounts that downgrade to the Free plan will also get the New Free plan. The main highlights are that subtasks are now available and that the New Free plan now allows unlimited users to be added to the account.   • Wrike Views - Updated Access Roles' Permissions ๐Ÿ‘ฅ
We've separated access roles' permissions for creating and managing Wrike Views in accounts on both the Classic and New Wrike Experience. Now, if you are on the New Wrike Experience, you won't see the old permissions Set Folder's or Project's Default View and Configure folder/project view. Instead, there are the following permissions:
  • Edit primary viewsย 
  • Edit custom public views
  • Edit custom personal viewsย 
  • Set default viewย

It's now possible to import data to the Budget field via Excel. To make the import possible, you must have the right to edit financial information through your Access to financial details and also have permission for Excel import in your access role. Otherwise, the import will be completely or partially unsuccessful.

Resources view is now available to all accounts with the Wrike for Professional Service package and Wrike Resource add-on by default โœ”๏ธ

Previously, only tasks that were unscheduled and/or unassigned to users were displayed in Backlog Boxes. In addition to that, now, if a task has a user as an assignee, but it's also assigned to a job role, this task will also be shown in the Backlog Box.

  • Backlog Box - Demand Calculations and Coloring in Horizontal Backlog Box ๐Ÿ“ฆ
Now you are able to easily compare your team's availability and demand by using the Backlog Box.

The Backlog box will calculate automatically the available capacity for each Job Role contained within the main chart and then compare it to the demanded work for that respective Job Role. The total capacity of the corresponding chart users is displayed next to the job role's name in the Backlog Box.

If the job role's demand in the Box exceeds the total capacity of all users with that job role on the chart, the cell will be red. If it's equal or under, the cell is blue, and if it's 0, the cell is white. The calculation results are shown in hours (h), percentage (%), or full-time equivalent (FTE), depending on chart settings.
E.g. there are two designers on the chart who work 8h/d (16h/d total). Each of them has 5h already allocated for the day on the chart, so the total available effort left for the day is 3h each or 6h total. In Backlog Box, there are several tasks assigned to the Designer job role with the total required effort of 7h. So in the Box, the job role's cell for the day will be red, as it exceeds the total available effort of the two designers on the chart.

We removed the Beta mark from the Team utilization template that's available in accounts with Wrike for Professional Service and Wrike Resource.

Hi Lisa,

the new feature with the backlog demand calculation is great. Unfortunately I have one problem with the calculation in the user area above.

We are calculating 6h/day so 30h/week. When I now click on a field to see the allocated effort of a user the days off are greyed out but in the calculation the days off are not present. So even though someone has only 3 working days in a week due to absence Wrike gives an effort of xx/30h. So the 30h do not represent the reality. See the screenshot. That is such a week with one day off, but showing 30h available.

Is the updated access roles permissions only available for certain Wrike product? I've got nothing after "Security" in my Account management list. (PS if this is the case - would you mind putting this in the release notes?)ย

Hi again Debbie Brownlie, Bakay Domonkos Domonkos, I've checked with my colleagues and I apologize for the confusion: Access Roles are indeed available on Business and Enterprise, but the option in the settings menu (accessible for account admins) is only available for Enterprise as this makes part of customizing the Access Roles.ย
