    Nicole,

Thank you summarizing the issues logically. I agree to you.

    Stephen,

Could you summarize issues for New Timeline as a list and share with the member of this thread?

Many users are complaining many issues and I'm also finding out several issues on using New Timeline every day.

I guess everyone want to know that Wrike recognize which complaints as the issue and Wrike can solve those when.

Every user can't satisfy even if you provide your solution one by one, I guess.

Although many users may said "New Timeline isn't practical.", I guess it is the better way that Wrike solves the issues and we use the improved New Timeline.

So, I want to need such issue list and Wrike's plan for solving the issues.

The thread that is only showing complains is not constructive, I guess.

I enjoy the new timeline, very detailed. Need to have the snapshot function that the old timeline has. I use this feature with staff who would rather not log into another application on top of all the others they use.

Really disappointed in the inability to not share the Timeline Snapshots. We're used this rather heavily to agree on deadlines with clients and share all deadlines and deliverables in a quick, clean way. Really need this feature reimplemented.

It's an improvement for me. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to use this to predict future loading of all my staff. Unfortunately most of my tasks can be on the sub-hour level. The time line doesn't really allow me to predict where the gaps are from a project needing staff and a staff needing project levels.

Disappointed we are no longer able to create shareable timelines with external parties as simply as it was previously possible

Hi guys, thank you for all the feedback here! There's a lot of comments and I'm going to try and address the different things that have been brought up. If I don't address your comment and you want to hear from us please just let us know.

First thing, these are planned updates or functionality which has already been updated:

    • MSFT Project - Currently there's no way to export to MS Project.
    • Printing and Timeline Snapshots - Not currently available on the new view, but they are on the team's roadmap. You can see more of the team's next steps as well.
    • Highlight overdue - This functionality is now available on the Timeline again!
    • Creating a task via shift+click - On the roadmap.
    • Rescheduling dependency chains - Released! Learn how it works. @Larry @Julia I think this is the one you were particularly interested in.

For all other requests, we're reading everything and sharing feedback with the team. Thank you all for taking the time to write in and please keep sharing what you would like to see.

@Nicolas, please let me know if you are still experiencing performance issues, I can create a Support ticket for you.

@Stuart I would love to know a little more about what you find nicer about the filtering options for Custom Fields. It's not the filters on the filter's panel correct?

@Paul You're correct, if you enable the old Timeline from Labs, the old Timeline is only added back to your personal Workspace. I'm working on getting answers to all of your questions and will follow up as soon as I know more.

@Nicole You can collapse the table if you don't want to see it on the view. To do this: hover over the table, a blue line appears on the border between the table and timeline, click the blue arrow on that line and the table will collapse.

@Scott You can use a trackpad to scroll horizontally across the view. If you're using a desktop though, this might not be an option for you. Would you like to see a horizontal scrollbar?

@Akira We have a list of planned feature updates for the New Timeline, is that what you're looking for?

@Kristian You are able to reschedule subtasks by dragging and dropping subtasks which are already on the Timeline View. Let me know if that's not working for you or if you were looking for something different?

@Stephanie - 1) I don't see anything in the response about adding the assignee's name to the task on the timeline. Is that in the pipeline or being considered? 2) Is there any discussion or plan about changing the filter options so that you can filter at the top again instead of having to open a separate pane for it? 3) Is there any discussion or plan about allowing you to set preferences for which columns you want visible so that you don't have to configure the chart in the timeline every time?

    Thank you!

@Nicole Just checked in on adding assignee's name back to the view and it is on the team's short-term roadmap to do that. I'm working on getting answers to the other questions for you, there will be a little delay on getting an answer because of New Year holidays, but I'll post here as soon as I can.

There seems to be a bug in filtering with custom fields in a new timeline. We have a checkbox type custom field and once I have used it for filtering I can't remove the filter. I can uncheck the selection but it does not remove the filtering from timeline. If I select from filters the "Not selected" option the filtering changes but then I cannot see the tasks with the custom field checkbox activated.

Hi Hannu, this shouldn't be happening. I can raise a ticket with our Support Team but I have one thing I'd like to check with you first.

If no tasks show for the Custom Field filter you've applied, then, when you untick the filter, you may need to expand the Folder to see the tasks by clicking the arrow beside the Folder name. This only happens if no tasks show up for the filtering options you've chosen.

Take a look at the below example screenshot and let me know if this is what you're experiencing. If not, I'll raise a ticket for you. Thank you ๐Ÿ‘

Thanks Stephanie. I'm glad to see rescheduling dependency chains back in here, and I'm looking forward to seeing more improvements to this new view. I'd also like to see the assignee's name visible on the timeline like it used to be (can't remember who's suggestion that was, but it was a good one).

All the folders are expanded. I found more details of this issue. When I untick the custom filter and refresh the browser screen the filter is again ticked.

Hi - not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but when I reopen the timeline within different projects it reverts to the old filtering that I had set place previously on a different project. Even after logging out and back in, when I open timeline it doesn't reset, it keeps the filtering.

Hi Jennifer! Just tested and for me, the filtering is resetting to "all active" tasks when I switch between Projects on the Timeline View. If I look at Project A though, change its filter settings, then go to Project B which shows all active, then go back to Project A, Project A still has the filter settings it had the last time I looked at it. Are you seeing filter settings other than "all active" saved across different Projects?

Hi Stephanie - yes, I am seeing filtering settings other than "all active." I had created a filter with a custom status and milestone, and when I go to all other projects within this folder they are all still defaulting to that filter rather than all active.

In general I like the new timeline. I like being able to show or hide the table view alongside the timeline. I have had some trouble trying to manually reorder tasks within the table though. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Also, I don't see anything that indicates whether I have Custom sorting set or are using Cascade sorting. It always says Cascade sorting.

It would be useful to be able to choose what to display next to the task bar - task name, resource names, or nothing.

Bring back critical path view and any other features that were lost. I understand that features get missed during upgrades but it's always frustrating to the user.

    Keep up the good work.

Having the Timeline open so that the red line is automatically close to the left side of the window would be much better. Opening in the center is not helpful 99% of the time, and we're constantly dragging the view to the left. IT's rare when you're working on a project that you want half of the information you're looking at to be in the past.

Hey Wrike team, thanks for all your helpful feedback recently! The new Timeline looks lovely and clean, but I'd like to reiterate a couple of points that others have raised and check on status.

    1) With the new chart entry into the Timeline โ€“ as others have said, it would be such an improvement if this could be updated SOON so we could still shift + click to enter data directly on the Gantt chart. Ideally you could enter information either way or both ways. The chart entry is sort of ok, but others have also already commented that it's inefficient to have tasks auto-populate within the lowest project on the list, to then be dragged into the right position on the Gantt chart. I know that this is skirted by going into only that project, but this often isn't practical.

    2) I also find that tasks entered this way auto-populate to today's date before I can add in a date in the first instance. This means that I have to locate the task at the bottom of everything and drag it into place onto what is sometimes a very complicated Gantt chart, or sift through months and months on the calendar to click it into place. This is inefficient when trying to schedule things out over several months. Am I doing something wrong?

    3) Drag and drop should also be introduced to re-organize projects within the Timeline Gantt chart and task entry chart. Maybe I'm missing something but I don't seem to be able to move things around without re-entering the tasks at the bottom of the list โ€“ any tips?

    4) Personally I don't mind the non-visibility of assignees to tasks, and it would be good if this could be an on/off feature once it's reintroduced.

    5) Print view please, for the 80th time :)

I'm glad a lot of these things are already on your roadmap, but without knowing when to expect any of these developments, it's hard to invest for another year! My subscription is up at the end of March and I'm already looking at replacement software options in case I don't feel confident in a renewal. Going back to the old Timeline view in the meantime!!

tasks / subtasks cannot be shrunk to <1 day in new timeline.

That's it.  Not every task takes a whole day!  Worked in the old timeline, not in the new one.

Hi, we just started trying Wrike and here is our main "complaint". It's too easy to change the "TASK" name on the "LEFT" side of the timeline tab.

For example, I click on a task "Meeting." It becomes highlighted in blue.

I click anywhere else on the screen (empty space on the timeline). The task "Meeting" stays highlighted. I push a key by accident. "A" key is pressed. The task name is now "A." I don't want the task name to be A. I want it to be "Meeting."I try to control-z or command-z and I can't undo the change.

This also happens when I have a task selected and I alt tab to my other program. I alt tab back and without knowing I change the task name.

    Possible solutions:
-After a task is created, you cannot change it by clicking a single key. You must double click it or right click->edit name to change the task name.
-Implement undo functionality (either control z or a popup like when you switch the layout of your timeline).
-After you leave the browser or click somewhere other than the task, it becomes deselected automatically.

    Thanks for reading.

The old timeline correctly displayed searched text new timeline doesn't

    example:

Our project plans use standard templates so task names are consistent across multiple projects.

I had dashboards set up based on searches for key works, e.g. "Design"

It was easy to jump to the list view from the dashboard and then in old timeline just the tasks with "Design" would be shown across multiple projects - nice and clear.

In the new Timeline view the timelines are not filtered so all tasks show even ones without "Design" in them this isn't easy to view in our review meetings.

Will this function be put back in?

    Thanks
