Your Feedback: New Timeline

Hello,

Another issue we'd like to report is the lack of an automatic refresh of the Timeline when a task is duplicated. After this action is done, the new task will now show on the timeline unless you reload or quickly change to a different project or Viewing mode. This is very confusing for new users, and a waste of time on experienced users.

Hooray! Thank you for adding Ctrl + click/drag for creating new tasks, in specified folder, with specified start/end dates. This is great and I can now let go of Old timeline. 😄

However, is there a reason that I have to double click open the task after creating, in order to name it? Surely everyone always wants to name a task after creating it, so being able to type the task name immediately without extra clicks would be preferable?

The Gant Chart view is now very difficult to pan left or right when the task list is deeper than the browser window without inadvertently updating a task. A scroll bar on the bottom would be most helpful.

I must disagree with you on this - I don't want an ugly, unnecessary scroll bar taking up space and busying the UI, but I totally appreciate it must be annoying accidentally creating tasks and I do agree this could be designed better - but not with such an old fashioned approach. Scroll bars are annoying and slow to fiddle with. 

I love how, in Gannt chart, you can now create a New task in any folder (and instantly set start / end date) with one click / drag. Why not have a Shift version of this to do the same thing for existing tasks? 

Then left click / drag is always for moving around and no-one accidentally sets start / end dates for existing tasks.

Actually, I have found that Wrike makes it very easy to accidentally set dates for existing tasks that do not already have scheduled Start & Finish dates. 

If you hover your cursor over the timeline side of the Gantt-Chart, after a short pause, Wrike assumes that you are attempting to set dates for existing tasks (or create a new task scheduled for those dates if hovering close to the bottom of the task list), and will do so if you click &/or click-and-hold/drag (as if you were trying to pan across the timeline).  This has been a mildly frustrating quirk with the new timeline view for me.

A horizontal scroll bar could be added, but set to auto-hide until the cursor is hovered over the bottom of the screen.  At least to me, that seems like it would be a win-win.  By remaining hidden it would not clutter the UI unless you deliberately hover your cursor over the bottom of the screen to have it temporarily reappear for use before hiding from view after you finish panning left/right.

We are still waiting on a way to exclude subfolders from the Gantt view.  We keep project meeting notes as a subfolder for each project.  Unfortunately there is no way for us to exclude the notes folder from the Gantt view.  The only thing we can do is collapse the view so that the tasks don't show up on the Gantt chart.  It would be great to have the capacity to include on exclude subfolders or subprojects from any view more granularly.

Another plug here for adding the ability to simultaneously select and move multiple tasks/groups of tasks/subtasks on the timeline without changing their relative time relationships.  Thanks!

I've been testing this, and I was able to move multiple tasks and at the same time, preserve their durations. 

Could you please explain in more detail what you meant about relative time relationships? Thanks!
