Duplicating Tasks

Table 25. Availability - Legacy plans

Overview

All users (except collaborators) on all account types can duplicate tasks. Use task duplication to quickly create a copy of a task.

Note

There's a limit of 4000 items created from blueprints and/or duplicated per every 7 days. Every time you create an item from a blueprint or duplicate an item, Wrike checks if the limit has been reached in the previous 7 days. If the limit is reached, you won't be able to create new items from blueprints or via duplication. You can try again in the following days, e.g., if you created 4000 items on a Tuesday, you can create more items only next Tuesday.

Duplicate a task

  1. Navigate to a folder, project, or space that contains the Task 1 you want to duplicate and switch to Table view.

  2. Right-click or click the three-dot menu of the task you want to duplicate.

  3. Select Duplicate 2 from the list that appears.

  4. In the pop-up that appears, enter a Name 3 for the task, add a Prefix 4 (optional), select the Location 5 where the task should be created.

    Note

If you don't select a location here, the duplicated task will be created in the same location as the original task.

You can also customize how the task should be duplicated. Check the toggle next to each option to:

    1. Copy description: Copy the task description when the task is duplicated.

    2. Copy attachments: Include the same attachments on the duplicated task.

    3. Copy assignees: Keep the same assignees when the task is duplicated.

    4. Copy custom fields (for Business and Enterprise users): Duplicated tasks always have the same custom fields as the original task, but this toggle signals that data entered in the original task should be copied to the new task.

    5. Reschedule: Set a start or due date for the task.

  5. Check Add another (optional) 6 so that the dialog box remains open and you can duplicate another task (you can configure each task differently using this option).

  6. Click Duplicate 7.

You can also duplicate a task by opening the task in Item view, clicking the task's Three-dot menu 8 button in its upper right-hand corner, and selecting Duplicate 9 task from the drop-down list that appears.
