[Status: Backburner ⌛️] Out of Office and unavailable time periods

Currently, the only way to show the team that we are out of the office is to set an entire day as "unavailable". This only shows when a team members attempts to @ message the unavailable employee and does not give feedback if the employee is assigned a task. It would be useful is automatic replies could be sent to task assigners from the unavailable assignee detailing how long they will be unavailable.

Furthermore, if we could set an away message for only a certain period of time during the day (similar to email away message) that would be more convenient.

Agreed. It would be great to let people know if you are not available when they assign a task to you.

@... do you know if this is something that will be launched very soon in Wrike? Or isn't the possibility there at all?

Hi Tessa Vandekerckhove, welcome to the Community and thank you for posting!

Here's an article that explains what happens with Product Feedback that we receive here on the Community. In short, we pass all feedback to our Product team and they take it into consideration. We also check for updates regularly after a suggestion reaches 60+ votes. The team can't implement all suggestions here, but they do keep them on their radar. The number of upvotes and feedback here help them understand how popular the suggestion is among the Community members. We don't currently provide a public roadmap, but you can check out the pinned section of the Product feedback forum to see which suggestions have been launched or are being worked on.

I hope this answers your question, but please let me know if I can help you with anything else!

Any update on this? It's difficult to tell if someone is out of the office in upcoming days and if I assign something that needs to be urgent, I end up having to reassign at the last minute which isn't efficient.

Hi Lisa

We've hit 60 upvotes on the main post. Can we get a status update on this?

Hi folks! I've checked with the team to see what status they can add to this suggestion: they find it makes total sense, and they will consider it in the future. For now, it's not on the roadmap and the "Backburner" status reflects that.

Thank you for your votes and feedback here, we'll continue to pass it on to the team 🙌

Hi Lisa,
Has the Wrike team moved from the consideration stage to the implementation stage? 😃

Would love this feature as we head into the Holidays 🦃🎅🥳

Another use case: our call center occasionally submits questions to another department with a request form. In the request form, they can assign a colleague to answer the question. There's a problem if this colleague is unavailable. It would be of great help if we could use an automation rule for this...

Hi Karen Reijneveld, thank you for sharing your use case with us. Would it be possible in your case to create an automation rule to reassign the task to another user or the users of a group if the task status isn't changed in, for example, one day?

Alternatively, other users or a user group could be @mentioned if the status of the task is not updated to, for example, "In progress" or similar.

If you have any additional questions, please let us know 🙂

Hi @..., this could be an option and I'll consider it, but you must admit that this is not ideal... All other users have to perform an extra action to detect that one person that is suspected to be not available. Ideal would be an extra condition in the automation rules: if all assignees are not available.

Thanks for sharing your feedback on this workaround Karen Reijneveld, it's been noted 👍

Hi Lisa What are the current options to show people on Wrike that I am OOO.

Hi Maitreyee Makwana, welcome to the Community! Here's how you can add non-working days to your work schedule to show other users that you will be out of office. Also, you can create these exceptions for other users as well, if you have the necessary rights. Here are the instructions to achieve it.

Please, let us know if you have any additional questions 🙂

We really need the ability to show who can be contacted in someone's absence, not just see that someone is unavailable.

In and ideal world, I'd love it if Wrike integrated with our email client so that if you have an OOO on one, it shows on both... That would be a dream!
