[Status: Backburner ⌛️] Private messages needed!

We use Wrike a ton with our  clients, and it would be great to add a private message feature, so that Collaborators cannot see messages between full users sometimes. Teamwork, our old platform, had this feature and it was SUPER useful. Because our clients see every comment in the Wrike project they are part of, it has led our users to go outside of the tool to interact as to not show the client everything.

Please consider this!!!!

@Wrike, @Lisa I see, the functionality request is reached 60 votes. Where could we see its "Product Feedback status"?

We need this ability to have private direct messaging assigned to a project.

Another vote for this feature. Without it we have to send emails, and it's not ideal.

Hi everyone, thanks for your support here. I've added the "Backburner" status here; our Product team are interested and are going to look closely when they are planning for the next year's roadmap. Thank you for your input!

Definitely a requirement for us!

This feature would save us a LOT of headaches. Our project manager is being overwhelmed  by follow-ups we're sending via Skype and email because we want to avoid misunderstandings with other collaborators.

Wrike Collaborator what is the status of the feature request? I tried to find any information about that. I could find nothing except of this conversation.

P.S.The link "🌎Discover... Wrike Discover and become a Wrike expert. Click here to get started" (https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/%E2%80%99http://bit.ly/2DSAUhv') from Lisa, July 16, 2019 15:01 is dead.

Hi Yaroslav Sokolov, thanks for flagging the Discover link, we're looking into this!

As for the suggestion - I've checked with the team, and for now, it remains a Backburner, which means that the Product team is interested, and will be prioritizing this in the future. Thank you for your feedback here!

This would be a huge win for Wrike, one of the features I am really missing.  I think "conversations" would be a great addition, including:

- Direct Messaging capability as discussed here

- Threaded messaging - this is a big piece in a lot of other tools - so you can keep a convo organized and don't just have a stream of IM's.  In fact I think in tasks you could do a lot of good by having those comments threaded.

- General News/Notifications to a team - this is a big one that could help replace Email.  Simply be able to create an "announcement" or message with a Subject and topic, and then the responses threaded below.

Since this is in back burner now, hope the product team is thinking about this stuff and will move on some of it soon!

While we're waiting for this feature, what's the best workaround?

Hey Luke Flegg! I'd suggest using Guest Reviews if you have the Proofing add-on - your Collaborators won't be able to see the tasks in Wrike and the comments left there. Or you can create separate projects or folders and not share them with the Collaborators and have all the internal conversations there.

I would love to see this feature implemented on Wrike! My biggest need for private messages is between specific team members and managers of people on a certain project. I want to hold all messaging in one place but have a level of confidentiality. Thank you!

Sometimes comments to a task are not for everyone's eyes, be it internally or externally. wrike should offer a standard functionality to enable public and confidential comments. So we do support the requirement and comments written here.

Hi @..., Thank you for your response. In order to be a bit more specific here two concrete examples why confidential notes or comments are strongly needed. If you prepare for a meeting you may want to add your comments and questions regarding a certain task but do not want to share them with others before. In another case you simply may want to remind yourself of something or add a note that's only for you.

Hi Meike Schnarr, hope you don't mind me jumping in for Cansu here 👋

Have you considered making those notes in your personal space? That way, they should only be visible to you.

Hi Lisa, Thanks for your suggestion. In fact, I have thought of the same. However, the realization would mean to set up an additional task in the personal space and copy a link of the original task into it as reference, wouldn't it? In order to simply take a personal quick note that would go beyond the scope. If there was a simple other way, I would be more than happy to test it.

I totally understand that this workaround isn't perfect Meike Schnarr. We continue passing on the feedback from this thread to our Product team and keeping this topic on their radar 👍

Our company just started using Wrike this year.  We are still learning our way around a lot of the features, but I was surprised to learn that direct messaging and private messaging are not features that are available within Wrike.  These options would be very useful for us, and I hope Wrike implements this capability soon!

The beauty of a project management system is to streamline processes and communications...
And it is particularly important to engage in 'one-off' conversations now that teams are working remotely... you use to be able to walk into someone's office to have a private conversation about next steps or feedback on a current project and keep things on track!

Wrike needs to offer the ability to have these private conversations in order to work efficiently and effectively!

Please!

I completely agree with Nancy and other's comments. We have many needs for private conversations that teams are currently having to take outside of the system. As you can imagine, this causes a lot of inefficiencies that would be solved by this ability.
