Descriptions Not Loading

Anyone have issues from time to time with descriptions on a task not loading.  This is killing us.  Makes using Wrike a huge pain.

Hi Vincent, I know you're looking for an answer from another user here, but just wanted to respond as well. First off, I apologize for any outage you've experienced with the Workspace (the description field in particular). I know that any downtime impacts teams and affects work and our development team is also very aware of the impact this has on teams using Wrike. While I don't have a concrete answer for you right now, I did want to assure you that the team is currently working on improving stability for the description field.

Hi Vincent: We experienced this once before and the issue was a result of the permissions assigned to a user.  We reset permissions to EDITOR instead of LIMITED. You might want to check permissions for users who are experiencing this issue and change their permission.  Good luck!

We had a similar issue this morning with one of our collaborators.

Although the collaborator had folder permisions to view the task, the description was not updated correctly, even after erasing Wrike entries in chrome://appcache-internals and rebooting the computer.

Finally, we just edited sligtly the task description with another computer and suddenly the problem dissapeared.

Obviously, this behaviour led to confusions between creator and assignee, so we expect a clear resolution from Wrike.

We are constantly experiencing the same issue. One of us is feeding Wrike from the Wrike app and the description fields are sometimes not showing on desktop computers of collaborators who used to see everything OK. Sometimes a browser refresh brings the description in, sometimes it doesn't. This issue appears to be inconsistent and random. On the very same desktop computers the new tasks show up but sometimes without the description so this is probably not a browser cache issue.

Our team views this as a deal breaker so hopefully this gets fixed by Wrike soon.

We discovered that the Collaborator never sees the realtime updates of the description and that it takes 6 minutes for the update to come through for them.  We are not sure why this is but we did extensive testing.  It is annoying that the collaborator cannot see realtime updates to tasks.

Hi everyone, I wanted to give an update about the logic here. While everyone can see the description field, Collaborators cannot edit it. Changing the logic so that Collaborators could only view the description field, meant having them see changes to the description field with a 6-10 minute delay (the same delay that applies to email notifications). 

@Zultan and @Miqueal I think this might address the situation you're experiencing, but if you continue noticing discrepancies that aren't in line with the logic I describe above, please let me know and we'll troubleshoot to see what's going on.

You may also want to check that the collaborator permissions are set to editor and NOT limited. I had the same issue and making that change made all of the difference.

I am just now having the same problem with Collaborators not being able to see recent (within the last couple weeks) changes in the description field. Any help would be appreciated.

As we added 4 more regular users, our problem persists. Descriptions not loading, happening even past the first 6 minutes.

Descriptions are not loading on my desktop but on my laptop? Is there some plug-in I need to make this work that I'm not aware of?

Hi Sharon, this shouldn't be happening and there is no plug-in you need. Can you try viewing the description field when logged into incognito mode please? You can update me here when you're done 🙂

I was adding Permalinks to a weekly checklist in one of my task descriptions. Moments later my whole task glitched. I cannot click checkboxes or delete anything within the description. My description also takes a pretty long time to load up. Please Help! 😱

Hi Billy, let's try use revision history to at least recover the information from your task. There are details on how it works on our Description Field page, but you'll click the clock icon in the description field toolbar, and then use the slider to go to a point when the description had the information you need. You can click "Restore" to revert the task to that stage, but if that doesn't work you can copy all text while in the revision history pop-up and paste the information into a new task. I know that's not ideal, but it will help you get your information back. Let me know if it doesn't work or if you would like me to create a support ticket to figure out what's going on.

DESCRIPTION IS NOT UPDATING. This is a recent occurrence where something I have updated in the Description area disappears. A grey screen covers the description area when this happens. This is bad, very bad!!!!

I work on a MAC with HIgh Sierra 10.13.3. Wondering if this is due to the update of Sierra that was done earlier in the year. Only seems to have happened after the update.

I have already spoken with Wrike support, but I wanted to add on here that my description fields are also not loading today.  Fingers crossed you are able to fix it soon as we definitely really depend on that field!

I've experienced same issue in the past, though normally it's very intermittent and a browser refresh solves the problem. So far today, the description isn't working at all on any task. Just stuck on 'loading....'

I'm having to use the comment threads at the bottom of each task to post notes that are meant for the description, just as a temporary work around so I can keep moving on my tasks.  Not optimal, but better than nothing for tasks already in place. I'm not able to create new tasks  in meantime because I can't set them up properly without a description.

We can use the Read Only version for the mean time. https://t.co/h6ze4jbQ0i. But it's really great if this can be fixed right away. Hard to toggle between windows.

Same here! I wanted to add that the description isn't loading in new tasks too; meaning I create a task and can't edit the description. It just says "Loading..." and I end up adding my description in the comments section so I can move on with my day.

I'm having the same issue.

I deleted all my cookies, cache files and I tested this on a Mac, Chrome and Firefox browsers. That didn't fixed the issue.

UPDATE 1: to help the Wrike's develop team, the issue seems to be at the inbox. When you go to the permalink' task, the description loads and you can edit it. If you do that, and then you go back to the same task but at the inbox section, the description still doesn't load.

 

UPDATE 2: the first time you go to the task' permalink, the description loads and you can edit it. But the next time you visit that task, its description won't load anymore.
