Adding Text Widgets to Dashboards
TL;DR
Wrike text widgets let you add notes, instructions, links, and images to dashboards for quick guidance and easy access to resources. You can add one either from + Add widget or the Widget Gallery. Text widgets support rich formatting like headers, colors, bold/italic/underline, lists, links, alignment, and checklists. You can also customize the widget’s appearance by showing or hiding the header/icon, changing the icon, adjusting background color, duplicating, or deleting it. Images can be inserted directly into the text, resized, and used inline with content, but layout options are basic. If linked content comes from deleted or unshared tasks, it may no longer display properly.

Text widgets let you add notes, instructions, or quick links to any Wrike dashboard. Use them to highlight important resources, provide team guidance, or create shortcuts to projects, spaces, dashboards, request forms, and external websites.
You can add a text widget to your dashboard in two ways: using the + Add widget button or from the Widget Gallery.
-
Open the dashboard where you want to add a text widget.
-
Click the + Add widget 1 button.
-
Select Text 2 from the list.
-
An empty text widget 3 is added directly to the dashboard.
You can personalize and format text in the text widget to boost readability and make your content stand out. You can use it to:
-
Add headers
-
Change font size and color
-
Make text bold, italic, or underlined
-
Create numbered or bulleted lists
-
Add hyperlinks
-
Align text
-
Add checklists
Tip
Use bullet points or checklists to organize instructions or action items.
You can personalize your text widget using the widget settings.
To customize your widget:
-
Click the three dot menu 1 in the widget’s title bar.
-
Click the Edit design 2 in the widget’s configuration.
-
In the widget settings, you can:
-
Show or hide the widget header 3.
Tip
Hiding the widget header lets you use your own text as a section title in the dashboard, so your custom header appears without an extra widget title above it.
-
Show or hide the icon 4, and click Change icon 6 to pick a new icon for your widget.
-
Change the background color by toggling the Background color 5 option.
-
-
Duplicate 7 the widget.
-
Delete 8 the widget.
These settings help you create widgets that match your workspace style and highlight important information.
You can add one or more images to a text widget and place them directly in your text. This makes it easier to add logos, banners, screenshots, or GIFs without switching to a separate widget.
-
Open the text widget in edit mode.
-
Place your cursor where you want the image to go.
-
Click Image 1 in the toolbar.
-
Click Add image 2.
-
Select one or more image files from your device, and click Open 3.
-
Click the Insert 4 button.
Your image is added to the widget.
To keep it inline with your formatted text, type before or after the image. To resize the image, drag its edges or corners.
-
Add more than one image to the same text widget
-
Place images naturally within formatted text
-
Resize images freely
-
Use images with minimal margin, which works well for logos
-
Upload multiple image formats, including GIFs
-
Show images in public links
Limitations
-
Image positioning is kept simple. You can place images inline with text, but there are no advanced layout controls.
If an Item Is No Longer Available
If the widget includes content from a task that was deleted or unshared, the image or related content may no longer appear as expected.
-
If the task was deleted, the content is no longer available.
-
If the task was unshared, only users with access can see it.
