๐Ÿ†• Releases - Automation, New Views, and More - Your First Release Note of 2023! Happy New Year ๐Ÿฅณ (01/09/2023)

ย
Hi Community! From all of us here at Wrike, we're wishing you a very happy and productive 2023! Here are the first releases of this year.ย

Feature Updates

When creating an automation rule for project-type items you can now select to @mention project owners in the comments to this item ๐Ÿฅณ
Now you can add any item to a location in the New Table view using its permalink, just like you could in the Old Table view. We've changed the text when adding a new item to reflect this, it now says Enter name or paste a link.
Click + Item at the bottom of the table or right-click an item and select Add subitem, paste in the permalink, and press enter.
  • New Table View - Hide Column Option and Quick Filters Available ๐Ÿซฃ
We added a new option in the three-dot menu button of columns in the New Table view - Hide column. It's available for all columns except the first column with numbers and the Name column.
On top of that, the New Table view now also has a quick filter panel where you can use pre-defined filters and create your own presets.
  • Gannt Chart - Quick Filter Panel Available If New Toolbar Is Enabled ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ
Before: Previously, if you were in the Gantt chart but had the new sidebar and toolbar enabled from Wrike Labs, you couldn't access the quick filter panel. Clicking on filters opened the full filter panel.
Now: This click opens the quick filter panel and you can click More filters... to get to the full panel.
  • Work Item View - Financial Settings Available In Three-Dot Menu ๐Ÿ’ต
When viewing a project or project-type custom item in the work item view, you can now access the Financial settings option in the three-dot menu.
These settings are only available on the Enterprise Pinnacle plan, and can only be seen by users with the right to edit them.
We added the ability to check custom field history right from the Work item view. Hover over the custom field, click the three-dot button that appears, and there you have it. Note: it works only for custom fields for now, system fields will follow later.
ย
A new Automation button is available in the header if you have the new sidebar and toolbar enabled from Wrike Labs. This button provides you with much quicker access to the โ€‹Automationโ€‹ tab in the Space settings (you had to go to space settings and click the Automation tab from there before.)
If you click on the drop-down on the button, you'll see the options to open the โ€‹Request formsโ€‹ and โ€‹Workflowsโ€‹ settings in the Space, and the โ€‹Apps & integrationsโ€‹โ€‹ section.ย
Users on Enterprise Pinnacle accounts who have the new toolbar enabled can now see the Financial settings option in the three-dot menu of certain views.
The views with this option are New Table, New Board, Gantt Chart, List, Files, and Calendar, the option is only available in projects, and to users with the right to edit these settings.
We added the ability to scroll through the Calendar view. Now when using the monthly view you can scroll from top to the bottom, and in all the other views you can scroll from side to side.
Additionally, we added the ability to disable this functionality, you can do this by clicking the three-dot menu on the toolbar of the view.
  • Work Schedules - Users Can Now View the Past 5๏ธโƒฃ Years
In the Work Schedule section of Personal Settings, you can now scroll the calendar back up to five years. Previously you could only look one year back.
  • Attachments - Updated Notification About File Size Limit โš ๏ธ
Before: When you tried to attach a file that exceeded the size limit, we showed you a small notification at the top of the window that could've gone unnoticed.
Now: You'll see a pop-up that'll definitely attract your attention.
  • Wrike API - Endpoint For Creating Tasks From Blueprints Added
Before: With API, it was only possible to create folders and projects from blueprints.
Now: it is also possible toย get a list of task blueprints and create tasks from blueprints via separate handlers.

Curious where the thread is asking for 5 year review of the calendar that made this such a priority - one would think the need for 1/2 day PTO would be more of a priority! 1/2 day PTO thread: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000588729--Status-Backburner-Half-day-holiday-logging-

Still can't view the "Progress" and "Predecessor" in the new Table view. Will this be something added in the future?

The new table view also still doesn't have Time Spent so you have no idea how much of the Effort has been used. This is the main reason I have not even tried using the New Table view yet. It's not any good if I don't have all of the core data of a task. This was posted right when this view was released in beta, and it still is missing.

regarding the automation engine update can it also be made possible that the owner of a project is mentioned when a tasks in a projects changes status? Note that the tasks is in subfolders (not subprojects)

since we cannot change the author of a task I see no other way to make the automation mention the current projectmanager on status change. because current options for tasks are:

@Nicole DiTrani I may have a hint but don't know if it helps your organization. We successfully use tasks as our administration of free hours different then a normal workday. You can also use recurrent tasks. We set up a sperate space for that and use calenders to show this shedule for each employee one layer. So everyone can see eachother work schedule

employees can fill in a request form for free days or hours request that needs to be approved or declined by the planner. This is added as effort to the task and then added to the calanders.

we only block public hollidays, weekends and fixed days off in the wrike shedule. This works great for our organization since we joined Wrike one year ago.ย
