I decided to create a custom theme injected by a chrome extension. It does not style any of the paid features nor all free features. But it works pretty well for me for 4 months now. But it may become buggy in the future when Wrike dev team changes major features.

Would love to see this be made a priority.  Now that Office (and most other applications) offer dark mode it is difficult on the eyes to transition back and forth to Wrike.  This may not have been a critical offering 2 years ago but it's essential now.

Wrike needs to adopt dark themes or could lose users

This is something that JIRA, a competitor, does have on their desktop application. This should most certainly be on the short-term radar for the product team at Wrike.

Dark mode for the win!

+1 for dark mode

Today Wrike went from a dark dark blueish color we've all become accustomed to, to a bright windows95 looking teal. I went through every theme, and they are very gaudy, the closest i could find is a dark purple? why is there 3 shades of white but not a GRAY or BLACK? This is pretty silly. This is business software not printshop deluxe. can we get some professional-looking app aesthetics please? this is pretty sad. 
Please don't take this as a whiney complaint from an end-user who just wants their way. This is truly a poor development decision on behalf of everyone involved with Wrike and reflects poorly on the company as a whole. This tool is the life blood for all of your customers. Take this request seriously. 

Couldn't agree more with Joey. People ask for dark mode so you make everything... lighter? It's been a year since this came up. To quote Joey, Wrike is "the life blood for all of your customers". People look at it all day 5 days a week, on average. It's plain unhealthy for the eyes to be looking at bright screens for 8 hours a day. For someone like myself who got eye surgery a short while ago, I had to revert to the browser and use a Chrome add-on just to be able to use Wrike. Even your competitor JIRA has dark mode on their app. I use dark mode on my Mac. Slack has dark mode. Mail has dark mode. Calendar has dark mode. See the pattern?

Hi, it's been over a year since this mock up was made and requested (great reference point). I see this as an essential feature which is standard in many applications these days, big and small . Is there an ETA on this implementation please?

The dark mode isn't on their short-term roadmap, but they understand the need here and plan to research this. I'll keep you updated; thank you again for your insights!

Thank you Lisa for the reply. I can appreciate that the need is understood but I don't understand why it is only being researched. Dark mode on the Mac was announced 2.5 years ago because of a huge demand. It was probably the most requested feature for years. Now Wrike is the only App for me that is always open but lacks this feature. You have made some nice strides to make Wrike look cleaner but all of that is negated because I literally hate looking at it because it is blinding. I hope the team changes its mind and decides to make this a priority.

Couldn't agree more with Dale. As a tool I spend hours in every day, compared to every other app I access (CC, Office, Teams, emails etc) this is the only one without a dark mode. It feels very dated as a result and is a real strain on the eyes.

Thank you Lisa.  This is an important update for us and I think many Wrike users will benefit from the addition. 

Surprising and disappointing to see this is not already a feature. The lack of dark mode is the main reason I would consider a competitor over Wrike. All my applications have dark mode other than Wrike and it really does make it an eye sore in comparison. Most of my colleagues had no idea that almost all applications have a dark mode feature but are now all using it if available. Unfortunately, based on my experience, "isn't on their short-term roadmap" will likely mean in software development terms "a nice to have if they have time".

Really hope to see a positive update on this soon.

Can we have an update on dark mode? Not having that for dashboards doesn't work in our office. It's a big deal for us and any progress on that would be really appreciated.

From an accessibility standpoint, dark mode should actually be a critical priority! I have some colleagues who are sight challenged that would seriously appreciate this feature. That said, as a video editor, I would LOVE this. Dark Reader on my web browser works great, but sometimes I have too many tabs open, or I just want a cleaner UX. Every video editing program on the planet uses a light on dark UI, so achieving total darkness across all apps is the ultimate goal.

Does anyone know of a way to use the developer tools to force a dark mode?

I've checked with our Product team, and for now, there aren't any updates in relation to dark mode. They'll keep researching this, and we'll let you know once we have an update in the future.
