Overview

All users (except collaborators) on all account types can schedule tasks. You can schedule tasks when creating them and any time later on.

Schedule a task from Item View

From Item View, you can change the task dates by clicking the Date 1 button.

Set the Start date 2 and Due date 3 for your task and/or specify the duration in hours, minutes, or days to build a more precise schedule.

Note

If you change the duration of the task the due date is shifted according to the changes you've made.

The predefined date options — today and tomorrow — support quick action choices. Click them to set the date and close the date picker.

Note

When you schedule a task, note that the Working days only 4 option is checked by default, meaning that only all weekdays are counted when calculating the end date of a task, based on its duration and start date. If you want weekends to be included in the calculation of the end date, please deselect the Working days only option.

Click the Clear dates 5 option to deselect dates in the Start date and Due date fields.

Users on Business Plus accounts and up (as well as on the legacy Wrike for Professional Services and Wrike Resource accounts) can enable effort for the task from the date picker.

FAQ

Is it possible to customize the Wrike ID that is assigned to an item once it is created?

It is not possible to customize the ID number on a Wrike item as it is generated by the system and is used as a unique identifier in Wrike's database. For a custom item labeling system to be used, it is best to create a Custom Field.

The "Working days only" option is enabled on the task date picker by default. Is it possible to customize this option on an account or project level?

Account admins can create a custom work schedule with a 7-day workweek and assign it to users to work around the default setting.
