Wrikebot @'ing people around Dependencies - How to Turn Off?
This is totally a 'me' thing...and not a wrike thing necessarily. When we first onboarded to Wrike, I believe I set-up an automation or reminder or something that has a wrikebot @ members of the team in a task chat once the predecessor of that task has been completed.
Because we set up a bunch of blueprints with a ton of dependencies to walk folks through projects - now whenever you complete a task folks keep getting notifications from wrikebot to start the next task:
"Cody Silfies All the necessary task dependencies have been completed, so you can start working on it right away."
But I cannot for the life of me find where I turned this on...and it's driving us all insane. I looked in automations, settings, email preferences, etc. No evidence of this anywhere. Might someone be able to point me in the right direction? What am I overlooking?
Hi! Sounds like you may have an automation out there being triggered by dependency tasks in a complete status that needs to be turned off. You can find automations in 3 places:
Main account level automations are in Settings/automations
Space level automations are in the settings (gear icon) section of your space within the automations tab
Item level automations are under, Settings/Custom Item Types/(Select the Correct Item Type)/Manage Automation Rules.

Have you tried unchecking the "Next task in queue is ready to be started" setting under "Product Reminders" within your "Email Preferences" (see screenshot below)? I believe that is the setting you need to disable to stop the notifications you're describing. However, keep in mind each individual user has to go into their own Email Preferences settings to enable / disable these notifications themselves.
Ali Moses - This breakdown is super helpful; thanks for the run through of these spaces. Unfortunately I don't spot this automation anywhere in any of the potential spots (I'll have to triple check with our 'account owner' on the first option - since I don't have an 'automations' tab at the account level (settings/automation)). Is it possible that this is default, out-of-the-box functionality and not an actual automation that I set-up (even though I feel like I remember setting it up)? The @Mention is not always me in the project - it's typically whoever is assigned the next project; BUT we all are getting email notifications about it. I think everyone assigned to the project is...which is quickly getting folks to ignore wrike messages. Hmm.
Lindsay Rokicki - thanks for pointing this option out. As mentioned above this is a problem that is afflicting our entire account - where we're getting these messages constantly. Wrikebot will @ whoever is assigned the project; but everyone that's on the project will get the email notification about wrikebot notifying these individuals. Seems odd to me that it would be a default state of the platform in that way....but maybe I'm wrong?
Cody Silfies My money is on an account-level automation. It's been a while since I set up our account, but I don't think there are out of the box automations that are universally applied. There are some pre-built ones that someone would have had to turn on though. Your account owner should have access to the account-level automations, so it's a good idea to check with them. Hope you get it sorted out!
HI Cody Silfies our teams also experience this on any projects which have dependencies set up. I haven't been able to figure out how to turn these off so it has put me off using dependencies! We feel sometimes it is notifying people even before the task prior has been selected as completed and yes like you said it means people start to ignore the Wrike messages.

If task assignees don't want to receive the @mention notification stating "All the necessary task dependencies have been completed, so you can start working on it right away" I would suggest ensuring "Next task in queue is ready to be started" within email preferences is unchecked. I tested this, when checked, assignees received the notification. When unchecked they do not.
Regarding the issue you mentioned about project assignees getting email notifications about Wrike Bot notifying task assignees of this ... I think this is tied to two things: if the person is following the project and/or tasks paired with which email notifications they have enabled in their individual user account.
For instance, I ran a test where I was the assignee on a project and I was also following the project. I set up a few tasks with dependencies and assigned those to test users. One task I followed, the other task I unfollowed. With my email preferences enabled like in the screenshot below, on the task where I was a follower, I received an email notification showing the Wrike Bot comment to the task assignees letting them know “All the necessary task dependencies have been completed, so you can start working on it right away.” On the task where I was not a follower, I did not receive any email notifications about the Wrike Bot comment.
It might also be worth discussing this issue with you CSM as they may be able to help you pinpoint the issue further, but I am pretty confident in my testing it has to do with the things I mentioned above.
