How can I create a read only folder? or read-only tasks?

Hi Juan, you can limit what someone can do within a task/Folder, but you can't create a fully read-only item. 

How to limit rights within the Workspace

  • Collaborators - Collaborators are a free license type. This type of user can only do a few things within the Workspace (like change status, add attachments, and comments and a few more things). 
  • Folder and Project Permissions - (this one's for Business and Enterprise accounts) Collaborators have limited rights within the entire Workspace, you can use Folder Permissions to limit someone's rights on specific Folders/Projects.

Hi. Thanks for your answer. I have a similar question though I want to share a read-only link to external users where they don't have a sign-on or an account. Is that possible?

If you want to share reports or Gantt charts with external, non-account users, you can use the Snapshots feature, which is available for Business and higher plans. Here’s a detailed Help Center article with instructions on how to create Snapshots.

Additionally, you can use the Public Link feature to share the Table View or Dashboards. This is particularly useful for sharing project updates, progress, and other relevant information with external users.
