[From Wrike] How to Customize your Home Page ๐ก
Hi, everyone!ย
Weโve had many discussions about the New Wrike Experience here on the Community. Your feedback has been vital to the roll-out and evolution of the new UI. A huge thank you to everyone whoโs been sharing their thoughts here ๐ค
Today, weโd like to take a deeper dive into the Home page that was brought to you with the New Wrike Experience.ย
Your Home page allows you to further customize Wrike for your specific needs. This functionality wasnโt available with the classic version of Wrike, so weโd like to highlight everything it has to offer.
Some of the functionality weโll look at today has been available for a while with the New Wrike Experience, and there are also some new customizations that weโd like to make you familiar with ๐
Letโs take a closer look!ย
Spaces
One of the central items of your Home page is Spaces. Hereโs what you can do with this widget on your Home page:
- Move it up or down the Home page
- Sort it by title or use custom sorting (drag and drop your spaces for that)
- Check out existing spaces by clicking on the โExplore spacesโ button
- Create a new space by clicking on the โ button if you have the right to create spaces
- Expand the list of spaces by clicking on โShow moreโ
- ๐New: choose the view - list, small, or large tiles
Pinned
The pinned section helps you to quickly navigate to projects, folders, tools, and custom views that you've pinned for quick access. Hereโs what you can do here:
- Drag and drop pinned items to reorder them
- Use the three-dot menu at the top of the section to switch between alphabetical or custom sorting
- Move it up or down the Home page
- ๐New: choose the view - list, small, or large tiles
Recent Tasks
The recent section shows projects and folders that you've recently accessed. It shows four items by default but can be expanded by clicking Show more. This section is sorted according to which items you've most recently accessed. Also, you can:
- Move it up or down the Home page
- ๐New: choose the view - list, small, or large tiles
AI Recommended Tasks
AI Recommended tasks help to make sure youโre working on the tasks that require the most attention first. It adds a widget to the top of your Home page displaying up to eight active recommended tasks which are assigned to you. Our Machine learning model looks at tasks assigned to you and assesses their urgency based on factors such as due date, task status, prioritization, and how often you've edited or commented on them.ย
The Recommended tasks widget displays task assignees, task name, the first tag the task has, due date, and its status. The widget shows 4 tasks by default, and you can click โShow moreโ to display more tasks. You can also move it up or down the Home page.
โ๏ธAs you can see, the central panel of the Home page becomes more customizable to make sure you can fit it to your personal needs and work flows.ย
Hamburger Menu
In the top left-hand corner of the home page is the Hamburger menu. Clicking it opens a navigation bar where your pinned items are listed, and which can take you to any of your spaces (and the tools, folders, and projects in those spaces), as well as the โShared with meโ section, Blueprints, and your Recycle bin under the list of spaces.
Inbox widget
The left-hand side of the Home page contains the Inbox widget, which displays your incoming Inbox notifications in chronological order, including those that have been read. The functionality in this Home page widget is slightly limited compared to the main Inbox. The Sent or Archive sections arenโt available, but you can archive and mark notifications as read.
Applicationsย
The right-hand navigation bar of the Home page contains your applications. My to-do and Created by me are smart folders in Wrike, which each user has by default. They appear at the top of the right-hand navigation panel on your Home page.
Dashboards, Reports, Calendars, and Stream are applications that are located in the middle section of this navigation bar. Any of them can be hidden using the three-dot menu that appears when you hover over their tile.
Shared with me, Recycle bin, and Blueprints are located at the bottom of this navigation panel and are always available on your Home page.
๐ To sum up, on the Home page you can:ย
- Customize the page to make it work best for you by hiding some items like spaces or applications which you donโt need to use on a regular basisย
- Set up the view and sort your spaces and pinned items, and move Home page widgets up or down according to your preferenceย
- Quickly access your recent tasks, your Home page Inbox, and the Hamburger menu that allows you to open a navigation bar where your pinned items, spaces, and tools are listedย
- Access to My to-do and Created by me smart folders, as well as applications (Dashboards, Reports, Calendars, and Stream), and Shared with me, Blueprints, and your Recycle bin on the left navigation widget

We hope this deep dive has been useful ๐ Please let us know if you have any questions, and share how youโre using your Home page below ๐

I don't use the homepage much, so for me this doesn't seem to be very helpful. Rather I use Workload, my dashboard and the search function.
Thanks for sharing that info Denise Runge! Is there a particular reason for you not to use it? Could you let me know if you have any suggestions for improving it?ย

My job for the company is to schedule projects and assign tasks to others. I personally have almost no tasks in Wrike that are mine to complete. Almost all my time is spent entering or reviewing tasks/projects. To do that I really need to be everywhere in Wrike.
I love having all of the nav options under the "More" button, rather than across the top like it used to be. It keeps the UI clean! Every time I do an onboarding training for someone new, I've been pushing the homepage pretty hard to encourage them to use it to it's fullest extent, because it's so neat. I love having this catch-all area to quickly navigate around the account.ย
ROFL that's ridiculous - changing from large tiles to small tiles actually took MORE screen space for spaces (I've got 14 spaces - large tiles is 3 rows - small is 5 rows) too funny
FAIL guys - fail.
Got you Denise Runge! Thanks for the detail!
Brittany Stringer Great to hear that ๐
Thanks for your feedback on those new tiles Debbie Brownlie, I'll pass it to the team!ย

Debbie Brownlie I know everyone uses Wrike differently, but I like having both. The small tiles work great for all of my folders that I have pinned because they have longer names, so it's easier to distinguish them from one another compared to the larger tiles. I have my spaces (with short names and icons) set up with the large tiles, and my folders with longer names with the smaller tiles. It works for me!
I also personally like how you can move the sections on your home screen to better fit your own personal needs!
We are happy to hear that it's useful for you Kyrstan Mckay ๐

I don't seem to have any option to hide things from the home... I can only move up or down. How can I remove / hide things like 'spaces' or 'AI recommended tasks' ?
In addition, I'd like to add to the homepage, for example adding 'Stream' alongside the inbox. Is that possible?
Hi Richard McIlrath, can you please let me know if you've considered using the New Home Page?ย
For the current version of the Home page, you're correct that by "customizing", we mean being able to move up and down the page. Hiding spaces is available in the three-dot menu:
It's not possible at the moment to add Stream to the Home page.ย

Thanks Lisa,
Added the new homepage now and will add feedback to be able to add widgets (assigned to me is not relevant there for me unless I can edit the statuses of what's assigned too really) :)
Great to hear Richard McIlrath! Looking forward to receiving your feedback ๐
