How Do I Move A Project or Folder to a different Workspace

During my trial period I created a project in my personal workspace but now I want to move it to the team workspace, how do I do that?

Hi Zina Grooms, welcome to the Community 🙂

Select the project you're working with and under its title, you will see a + button. Here, you can choose the location you'd like to move the project to in the team space. You can also choose to remove it from the personal space by hovering over 'Personal' under the title and choosing 'x'.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, be sure to let us know 👍

Hi Zina Grooms,

The quickest way to do this is using the + button underneath the project title to choose the team workspace you want it to go to, followed by clicking the x to remove it from your personal space. See below for reference.

Thank you! What about how to move a folder to a different space?

Welcome to the Community Maria Potepalova 👋

It works the same as described above - you can add a folder to a space by clicking on the same '+' button of the folder and choosing the needed space 👍

This is really helpful, thank you for adding the question and answers.
Please can I ask, when a project gets moved using the above method, does it sync so if you make changes to the project in one space, it updates in the other/all spaces it is in? Or does this method effectively make a copy of the project and paste it, in it's current state, to another space and any updates in one don't affect the other?

Hi Emily Conroy, welcome to the Community and thank you for posting. Changes in the project will be reflected regardless of the location since by adding it to another space we don't copy but change the sharing settings of the same item. Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions🙋🏻‍♀️

Hello Wrike Team,

I would like to move a project from one space to another. However, I do not see the "plus" icon you mention. Is there another way I do it?

Thank you!

Cinzia

Agreed.  I do not see a + either.

Hi Karin von Behrens, thank you for reaching out! It's probably related to access, but I'll raise a ticket for you to see exactly why you don't see that option 👍

Hi there! I don't see the + button either, and I am the admin of the business account. Please help. Thank you.

This should be a basic thing. Can anyone from Wrike please add the answer?

Hello Peter Verkooijen, thank you our joining the Community! To add your project/folder to a different Space, you would only need to open it and, below its title, click on the + icon. A search field will be opened where you can select the relevant Space.

In case you don't see the + icon, this is likely due to your assigned access role in the project/folder. I hope this information helps - please let us know!

@Juan, no, it doesn't help. There is no + icon, as many others have reported. The project home doesn't look anything like in the images that keeps getting posted - why would I have a project in my Private Space? I created the project and am an Admin on it and all the folders involved.

Jumping in on this @... - I am owner/admin of Wrike for my organisation and, like Peter Verkooijen, the view for me when I click on 'info' next to the project name is nothing like what you shared.

There is a 'Location' field which shows the name of the current space but clicking on it just loads the first project within that space. There is no plus icon anywhere.

I would appreciate someone getting back to me very soon on this. I'm unable to share my screen in client meetings because we have projects that were created in the default space that would be visible to all clients and need to be hidden. Thanks

Hi Toby Knight, thank you for sharing your case with the Community. Your particular case seems to be linked to your current plan: currently, it is not possible to include projects in multiple Spaces in the Team Plan.

A workaround for this could be to export and import back your project into the relevant Space. In case you have any additional questions, please let us know.

I have moved to Lightspeed and now don't see the plus option as I did before.  Is there a different place to find it now?

Hi Keri Foster, welcome to the Community 👋

The location field is now under the other fields menu, here's how you access it:

Hope it helps!

This copies and links the folder, rather than moves it. If you delete it from the old location, it deletes it from all locations.  Per the original question, how do you move a project or folder?

Never mind ... figured this out.  For those having similar issues:

Once you "add" the project/folder to a new space, open the project/folder page, click Info; this shows all locations where the project or folder is stored.  Hover over the name of the location from which you want to remove this item; an "x" icon appears.  Click this icon to remove the item from that space.
