Restrict access to timesheets
Hi,
how can I restrict the access of users to other users timesheets? Is there any possibility I can prevent that a co-worker can see an other co-workers timesheet except that I do not share the task with him?
Reason for the question are the German data protection rules.
We have a very open mind with the projects because we want everybody to give input to other projects. So everybody can see other projects.
Data protection rules now say, that a colleague should not see personal data and working times are personal data. So I would need a checkbox for each employee "is allowd to see other timesheets". So I could give managers the ability to view and colleagues will not see. That would be the most simple solution I could think of. Other suggestions would be also welcome to be alligned with German data protection rules (how do other companies in Germany handle this? They should have the same problem).
We put different Projects in different Workspaces but I am not sure it is compliant nor that this might be a solution for you...
Unfortunately does this not solve the problem. I can also restrict access to projects that makes no difference.
Problem is that I want people to see the technical projects (so they can give their ideas) but German privacy data protection says me that they should not see the project hours.
So I need possibility to make a seperat access right for technical topics and project hours.
Hi Sven Passinger! Currently, as you and maxmangi mention here, the only way is to unshare certain tasks because when viewing other users’ timesheets, it's only possible to see the tasks that you have access to. I can move this thread to the Product Feedback forum if you'd like, please let me know!

Hello Sven, why you don't create a separate section where you can use the project topics as "placeholders" for ideas or problem solving approaches.
There the employees and colleagues can then contribute and develop their ideas. This way you would have a separation between the actual project and the area for collecting ideas.
Hello Jürgen,
a nice idea, but not what we need. They have to see the project. We discuss technical things inside the project and everybody shall see it to be able to develop own ideas. Without seeing the project tasks it will not help, because we are developing new technology and so they should see the new projects.
