Task name Keyword Filter for Dashboard Widget
I would love the ability to filter widgets for dashboards by a keyword in the task name!
Our tasks are methodical for each project, so being able to filter for "08. Confirm Delivery" in task name would mean I could set up a dashboard widget for someone to be able to keep track of that specific task duty across all projects.
Hi Mary Huddleston, thanks for reaching out! 🙂
You can add Search results to a dashboard, so I think it should be possible for you to search for "08. Confirm Delivery" and add the results to a dashboard:
Please let me know if that helped!

I wish the Search method worked for us, but it sadly does not. I would love to see filtering by task name in Dashboards and Calendars. Right now I am getting around this by adding a custom field and classifying a task so I can then filter by that field in the dashboard. It's quite tedious, it would be great if I could instead just filter by task name. Sad to see this feature hasn't gotten very many votes!

It definitely isn't the perfect method - we get some random tasks that even mention the word we search for in the comments. This seems like an easy feature to incorporate! I agree, I wish it had more votes! Good luck! 😊🍀
Thank you for the feedback, Mary Huddleston Ashley Crane! I'm passing it on to the Product team.

I have the same issue. A temporary work around, in hopes of a better permanent solution from the Wrike team, is to put your desired search term in quotes - that eliminated all the random tasks from my searches. Hopefully that will be helpful for you!
Thanks so much for sharing, Jenny Fields! 🙌

+1
We create all projects from blueprints, meaning every project contains the same identically named tasks. We also have a huge number of projects annually (500+). Therefore we have several hundred tasks we would like to show up in Dashboard Widgets simply based on a task name keyword filter. E.g. a Dashboard Widget based on completed tasks named "Create final PDF" would be a hugely valuable addition to our print production dashboard.
Individual Wrike users, who typically work with specifically named tasks, would also benefit from being able to set up their own dashboards with Dashboard Widget task name filters. Using such a dashboard, users could then keep track of tasks belonging to their area of expertise, even if the tasks are not (yet) assigned to them.
Thank you for adding your thoughts here Tuomo Suominen! 👍

Agree, the search pulls in random results, and the dashboard shows completed tasks, which is far from ideal.

Hi!
I have the same problem. I would love to add a widget to my dashboard based on a few specific keywords - and then list them by activity and status. +1 upvote from Hungary!

I would love this, too - currently search is pulling everything BUT my quoted search term in task titles, just tasks where it's included in the body.
Noted Laura Kuechenmeister, thanks for sharing your feedback, we've passed it on to the team 🙂

+1 very much a need. I'd suggest being able to filter tasks OR folders based on a keyword/phrase. In other words, show tasks within a folder that is a match. It isn't always the best organization to have subtasks under a parent task.
Hi Tim Ogletree, thank you for your feedback! I've passed it on to our dedicated team 👍
Is this an option as of yet?
The ability to create a widget from search results no longer works. Is this functionality still under consideration?
We do not recommend, in general, relying on search to display the list of tasks matching a particular string. We recommend using custom fields or location tagging to categorize tasks and then using filters or location selectors to display them. Having said that, we still plan to add keyword-based filtering to new dashboards.
What do you use search or keyword-based filtering in dashboards for?

Hello @Vladimir,
I use keyword-based filtering in dashboards for filtering specific template tasks beside each other.
We have a lot of projects from templates (blueprints from request forms)and several template tasks are related to them. For example: Kick-off meeting, Creating the contract or creating the certificate of completion. They always have the same task name, but the relate to different projects. Also there are more different kind of project blueprints and different line of template tasks related to them. If I would like to see all the tasks for a specific template tasks, coming from different projects, the only way to filter them is searching for the names (or part of the names) of these specific tasks.
Thank you for helping,
Domokos
Thanks, Domokos! Why don't you use CF or location tagging in blueprints to mark and identify those tags later? What if users change task names?

Adding a vote for the ability to create a widget based on a task keyword. I already have dashboards by statuses. However, in this case, I want to track specific tasks moving through their workflow. I too create folders and tasks from blueprints.
All, we are planning to provide that functionality later this year. Thank you for your feedback!
