[From Wrike] Important News Regarding Extensions In Wrike
Hi everyone!
Here at Wrike, we want to make sure that you and your team are always reaching your full potential when it comes to work management. That's why we're saying goodbye to Wrike features that are no longer of value to you.
In late December, we will be sunsetting Wrike for Chrome (for Easier Task Management) and Wrike for Google Hangouts.
These features had a low adoption count and therefore we can no longer support them through Wrike. We are currently in the process of removing them from the chat store, and users who have already downloaded them will be able to use them until the sunset date.
We understand that there may be some of you that require these extensions for critical business reasons. If you feel like this is the case, let us know and we can put you in contact with our Product Team and Support Team and they can help you find streamlined and successful solutions to this.
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to leave them in the comments section below! 😊
i guess i am the only person using the chrome extension regularly and the only one that used the chat bot in hangouts... sad to see them go. chrome extension was too slow and buggy and i bet only few knew that it even existed... same for the chat bot, adoption of the new chat is not even completed and you are closing it already. We still have not been able to transition fully to chat.google.com even if i wanted to... transition is going to be able 1h 2020 https://support.google.com/a/answer/9197126?
Yes we use this regularly. I would love some suggestions on how to quick-add tasks into wrike.
Thanks,
Erika

I am a little heartbroken about this. That chrome extension was brilliant for tracking personal tasks on the fly and in hallway meetings. Hope there is a similar replacement in the works.
Interesting. How long does Wrike give members to adopt a feature? My traffic team is using the Chrome extension and has integrated the function in her job flow. As a team, we've only began using Hangouts. We'll need to prepare a different option.
Hugh, you may want to clarify that this is in fact not Wrike Todo - the extension that allows you to enter in tasks from your homepage. This is what I thought it was as well.
Thanks,
Erika
Erika Bruchhausen Thanks a lot for pointing that out!
Everyone: Wrike ToDo Extension is not being sunset, we're currently sunsetting Wrike for Chrome (for Easier Task Management) and Wrike for Google Hangouts. If you have any concerns, please reach out to our Support Team so they could advise 🖖

It feels genuinely silly to sunset the Hangouts Chat integration... when Hangouts Chat is not even fully rolled out within G Suite, with most features being added right now (companies needed to subscribe to an accelerated rollout program with Google to have it replace the classic chat UI)
So most of your target audience did not even have a chance to trial it.
jap i wrote the same above, most disturbing is that wrike sells it as progress...
Disappointed in this move. The feature was very helpful when capturing quick tasks related to a specific website.
Very sad to see this go.
I finally had found a way not to miss wrike notifications with this integration with google chat (emails fall into notifications mailbox and wrike notifications on web does not pop up or change color...)
Surprised that you are not keeping on this track....
Hi Julien WAGNER, sorry for the late reply here. Just wondering, is Inbox not helping with the notifications?

Not really Lisa because I do not use the app and I am not all day long inside Wrike (even though it is always opened as a pinned tab). If the icon on the tab could change when there is a notification (very much like google chat) it would help.
I have many different systems so converging them towards one is (at least was) really helping.
Got it, thanks for clarifying, Julien WAGNER! And what about Wrike ToDo extension? It also offers notifications from Wrike: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005892225-Wrike-ToDo-Extension#notifications

Hello, I also agree that is disappointing not to have a Wrike Bot into chat.google.com, since now Google is pushing and developing its new Chat to compete against Teams and Slack (that have Wrike integrations, actually), and discontinuing the former "Hangouts" within the end of 2020.
We have just started testing the new Google Chat (in order to use a G-Suite tool and avoid adding another "external" tool, such as Slack)
Is there any roadmap to start again developing a Wrike Bot for Google Chat?
Hey Carlo Cortese, thank you for this feedback! It's been passed on to the Product team.
I don't have an update for you at the moment, but as soon as I do, I'll let you know.
Seconding Carlo. Google Chat integrates with a lot of the other popular project management tools and seems like it needs a second look with Google's move from Hangouts.
Hi Sara O'Brien, thank you for the input!
Any Google Chat integration to be expected? With the new features in Google Chat, it is becoming a serious alternative to Slack and should be reconsidered. Otherwise, we may have to spend time reconsidering Wrike.
Hi Maxime Desjardins-Goulet, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sharing all Product releases and updates on our Weekly Release Notes, currently, Google Chat integration is not available but I'll be passing on your feedback to our team.
