Use Wrike Bot in private channels or rooms to
- Generate task previews (show task name, status, assignees, beginning of the description, and an option to open the task in Wrike).
- Assign or unassign yourself from a task or complete a task from a task preview.
- Receive notifications when tasks are assigned to you, you’re @mentioned, or a task you follow changes status.
- Wrike works with Google’s new version of Hangouts Chat (chat.google.com), not with the previous version of hangouts (hangouts.google.com).
- You must have a Wrike license to generate task previews or take action on tasks from Wrike Bot.
Anyone who is part of your Google team can invite the bot to a room. You must have a Wrike account to log in and authorize the bot with Wrike.
- Got to the "Find people, rooms, bots" field.
- Select "Message a bot".
- Search for and select "Wrike".
- Open your direct conversation with Wrike.
- Click "Log in to Wrike".
- Proceed with the log in flow.
An admin must enable Wrike for Hangouts Chat before you can add Wrike Bot to a room. For individuals, we recommend adding Wrike for Hangouts Chat before adding the bot to a room.
Add Wrike Bot to each room where you would like to use it.
- Open Hangouts Chat.
- Open an existing room or create a new one.
- Click in the message box and type @Wrike
- Select Wrike Bot from the list when it appears.
- Click Add to Room.

Create Tasks
- Open a conversation with Wrike Bot.
- Type: @Wrike create “new task title”.
- Press “Enter” on your keyboard.
Your new task is created in Wrike’s root Folder.
View Task Information
- Open a conversation with Wrike Bot.
- Type @Wrike “task permalink”.
- Press “Enter” on your keyboard.
Assign a Task to Yourself
- Click assign to me on the task preview.
Mark a Task as Complete
- Click the status checkbox on the task preview.
