[Status: Backburner ⏳] Outlook Calendar Integration

I wanted to share some further detail on this with you in relation to this feature request to give you a better understanding of why the status here is currently 'Backburner'.

 

The team responsible for this are currently working on our planned Zoom integration and will be continuing to work on this next year. They are also working on our MS Teams video conference + MS Teams general integration and in 2021, the team will be reviewing and making improvements to this integration based on user feedback and the insights and data available to them. The Outlook calendar integration feature suggestion will be also be reviewed as part of this work. So, next year, there will be more detail available on whether or not this feature will be added to our solution. As such, this request remains 'Backburner' for now, but as the team reviews this, we'll be sure to make any relevant status changes here and will let you know as soon as there are any updates to share in relation to the potential roll-out of this feature.

 

We know this is a popular suggestion and can appreciate that it's frustrating that there are no plans to implement this in the short-term, but we will continue to pass on your interest, insights, and feedback to our Product team in relation to this. Please do continue to add your use cases here, as all of this detail will be relayed to the team and will be taken into consideration when they are reviewing this.

When working on Product enhancements, our team focus on implementing the features that will have the most impact and bring the most value for our users. The same can be said for our work on integrations. As much as we'd love to be able to implement everything our users want, we need to take into account the relative difficulty of implementing something and the relative impact for our customers. I can absolutely appreciate that this feature would be of value to you and the users who have commented here, but as outlined in this post, our team need to look at all requests holistically and make a decision on what to focus on next based on all the available data and feedback. This is how we determine what to prioritize and what features to implement next.

 

The MS Teams video conference + MS Teams general integration are complex and updates to these have implications and impacts that must be considered when planning future updates. With this in mind and as mentioned above, the team will be reviewing and making improvements to this integration next year and the Outlook calendar integration feature suggestion will be also be reviewed as part of this. We'll be sure to share regular updates here and let you know if there's any news or change to status.
