Allowing sharing of sort order between views (i.e. gantt sort order can mirror "new table" sort order, and vice versa)
Is there a way to make gantt sort order mirror the New Table order or vice versa? For example, the gantt has timeline functionality i need, but i can't see custom fields. Conversely, the new table shows me custom fields and remembers sort orders, but i can't see timelines.
I end up having to manage two sort orders, just to make both views useful for me when used in tandem. This would be significantly faster for me if both views could adopt eachother's sort order.
Is this at all possible?

Hi Ra, thank you for posting on the Community 🙂
You can filter Gantt Chart's table portion by Custom Fields - could it help you work in the Gantt Chart View without switching to the New Table? I'd also recommend checking out our Help Center page on Sorting and Reordering items on the Gantt Chart.
Please get back to me here to discuss it further.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for responding. Unfortunately, I have a pretty specific need for visualizing the custom fields, filtering alone isn't sufficient.
To work with our executive team, I need to actually visualize the custom fields on the gantt tables to talk through specifics during high level meetings.
Are there any plans for something like this in the future? Thanks for your support!
Hi Brandon, just jumping in here for Lisa.
I'm assuming you're moving from Table to Gantt because you want to show Custom Field data and also the timeline of the Project - that makes sense.
The way I do this (and only available in the recent New Table View) is to drag and drop the tasks in the New Table View to the same order you have the Gantt View. This way you can arrange the Tasks in the Table as you do in the Gantt.
Not ideal as it's a little bit manual, but once you do it the first time it should not take many tweaks if the project changes.
What do you think? 🤔
Thanks for the suggestion, Stephen.
You've nailed my usecase.
Unfortunately, I'm also doing the same thing you're doing – manually editing the new table view then manually aligning the gantt view to match.
My request stemmed from the frustration and tedium with that exact process.
I was hoping that if both views used the same "drag-and-drop" style, there might be plans to share the sort order between them so I could atleast make the two-view-hack much, much, much less painful.
Have you heard of any "sort-sharing" like that being planned?
It was talked about at one stage Ra, or at least an option to share sorting of views however it's not currently on the roadmap.

Thanks, Stephen. I've converted it to a product feedback post. Hopefully we can get some upvotes!
Having the custom fields available in gantt view would help me with a similar issue. And being able to print the table with the gantt (like any MS Project schedule) would be perfect.
Is there a way to sort the Gantt chart by priority? It looks like I have to reorder everything in the gantt chart simply because it doesn't sort properly. Is that right?
Also, if I accidentally hit a column sort, how do I get back to manual sort? It looks like the data is lost.
@Brian Hi, sorry for the long reply here. You can't sort the Gantt Chart by priority, but you can sort by importance by adding the column to the table portion:
As for getting back to manual sorting, please try the Undo button to the right of the filters. I hope this helps 👐

This one feels like a must have. Significant time waste every project I make trying to match the orders.
I agree with sort functionality!!! All other work views allow sort by priority but the gantt view does not??
If one of our 90 users clicks in the wrong header all of their timeline, it goes all out of whack and there is no undo functionality that allows them to switch back to previous view. So when they are working on a gantt with 50 rows it is a nightmare as many of their tasks are due on the same day.
