[Status: Launched! ๐] Using the Table View like an Excel Spreadsheet
It would be nice to have the ability to do a mass edit for all of the custom fields in the table view. We can do an import in order to populate the same value in a custom field across all tasks, but it would be great to be able to just copy & paste the same value on multiple rows in the table view.
I agree!
That would be wonderful. Already can do it on Time Logs. Would be great to do on reports too!
Agreed. This would be a greatย feature.
Agreed!ย Would also be nice to have the shortcut keys that work in Excel, etc. be consistent through Wrike (i.e., F2 key = edit field, copy/paste shortcuts, etc.).
ย
I agree - the ability to populate a column with a single entry quickly wouldย help us apply version numbers to our template tasks (to name one example).

I agree, this would be a very useful feature!
This would satisfy many requests on the community forum for the ability to mass-edit and/or inherit custom field values from projects, etc. because if it was as easy as type and drag down cells like excel, no one would be mad at having to do it. it's the ridiculousness of having to have so many clicks to enter custom field values that makes it hell to use.ย
Hi everyone, thanks for your comments here. No updates at the moment; I'll get back to you when I have news.
In the meantime, please +1 the original suggestion so that the Product team could assess its popularity. Thanks!

+1 on this. Right now we keep our Feature Pipeline separate outside of Wrike because it's easier to sort, style and manipulate a spreadsheet quickly than fumbling around with Wrike's UI.
Ideally we'd have a view similar to Google Sheets directly inside of Wrike. It doesn't need to have all the bells and whistles of Sheets, but the core interactions (tabbing/arrow keys through columns, drag down to apply values, drag and drop rows, insert rows, undo/redo etc) would be a huge time saver.
The closest thing Wrike has to a true spreadsheet view Table view, but that doesn't have drag and drop sorting for some reason even though it would just make sense to have that there (like the Gantt Chart view supports) ๐ฉ
So I guess the first ask would be to add drag and drop sorting to the Table view - then expand upon that to make the Table view function more like a spreadsheet would.
I discovered the New Table View in Wrike Labs that pretty much achieves what I was looking for.
It's still missing a few features like Undo/Redo, drag down to copy/paste a value across multiple columns, Inserting a new Task row in the middle of two columns etc. But at least you can now drag & drop sort.
I'll also say that if you're backlog is super long, you have to scroll to the bottom of the table to find the "+add task" button.

Hey @Alex, thank you for your feedback here! It comes at a good time - as you already mentioned, we offer the New Table View in Wrike Labs. I'm happy to hear that it provides some of the features you were looking for ๐

Hey everyone, a quick update -ย
Mass editing custom fields is now available in Table view! For that reason, I've added the status of "Launched" to this thread.
If you have any questions or feedback, be sure to let me know.
Hugh,
Thanks for the update! Can we mass delete whatever we've mass edited?
Hey Kristine Nguyen,ย
Once you mass edit a field, you can click undo or press Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z if you are using a Mac) in the Table view and this will revert all the changes you've made in that field. So if you populate a full column by accident, you can simply undo it and the problem will be solved.
Hope this helped! If you have any other questions, be sure to let me knowย ๐
