Bulk Updating of Custom Fields

Seconded. Would be really useful for us. I've just spent two days retroactively adding these in.

Hi Stephen, I'm not sure they are the same thing. I was thinking more along the lines of the way that you can multiple select tasks and change the workflow status in bulk.

@Elizabeth, can I please ask if the thread shared by Angi, meets the requirements outlined here? I'm currently getting an update from our product team on that request as it's over the 60 vote threshold and it's a lot easier for the team to review the feedback in one place so I'd like to redirect people there if it's essentially the same request. This would be a real time saver.  One example is a current situation where I made a mistake in setting up a blueprint and now that mistake is in over 30 tasks in 30 different projects.  The only way I can see to filter these tasks is by the name field through Search.  It would be great if the mass edit option on there could allow you to change custom fields; or if there was an option to show a table view of the search results.

Has the ability to bulk edit custom fields been released?

Drag function is clunky and inefficient when assigning across multiple projects and tasks.. My system will black out when I drag over multiple screen views.  We need a way to find - replace or add info to folders, projects, subprojects, tasks or subtasks.

I'm having the same problem today and was hoping to find an answer here. Looks like there isn't one. :-( 

+1 for this idea! Several times this year I've needed to update the selection on a custom field where drag-and-drop isn't a feasible option for me. I could have used this functionality twice today. 🥲

Ideal functionality:

• Use Table view
• Select multiple tasks to launch bulk editor mode
• Click an icon in the nav bar that lets me edit custom fields
• Search for the custom field, then select the option
• Bonus points for a Find and Replace option! :)
• Even more bonus points for a Find and Delete option!

Most of the time I'm looking to change a single-select option. I could see this being tricker to implement with multi-select (hence the find and replace/delete option).

There’s no update to share yet on true bulk updating of custom fields via the mass editor. For now, the main workaround is still to use Table view and copy/drag-fill values down a custom field. We’ve passed your detailed feedback to our Product team, and we’ll update this thread if anything changes.
