[Launched! ๐] Dark Theme For Desktop Application
First off, thanks for providing a desktop app. I have way too many tabs open in my browser as it is, so offloading to a standalone application helps a lot. ๐
One of the glaring ๐ problems with it however, is the lack of themes. I notice Wrike offers themes for the browser, so we need something similar for the desktop. In specific, a DARK theme. Microsoft's Visual Studio is a good example, or the Windows 10 Twitter app. Just keep it dark and release it quickly to both online and offline versions of Wrike. ๐๐๐
Thanks!
Hi everyone, I'm happy to announce that Dark Mode is now available! You can learn how to enable it and more relevant details in this dedicated post.
Thank you!
When you change the theme for the browser, you should see it change on Desktop (perhaps log out and in again on Desktop after you've made a theme change in the browser).
I'm happy to hear you're liking the Desktop version Gregory! Let me know if this isn't working for you and I can help further ๐
I've still logged your feedback around having new themes added, it would be great to see you join this conversation and upvote the original postย ๐
Hi Gregory, you'll be happy to hear that Workspace Themes are available from today ๐Check out this post for more information and to provide your feedback!
It's a great start, Stephen, but most of the working area of the app is still in bright white ๐ฅ๐๐ฅ. If the Midnight theme also gave the two working panes, for example, a dark gray background color, that would complete the experience. We're at least progressing in the right direction! ๐
A true dark theme would be greatly appreciated!!!ย We spend many hours a day in Wrike, and having this available is very important for many of our users.ย ย
Thanks!ย
I'll second what Paul said. Having a full theme that is black or dark grey (or both, similar to Twitter) would be amazing!
Hello Wrike Team,
ย ย I am working at a sizable company that leverages Wrike for all of ticketing and project management. As a person with sensitivity to migraines and light I would very much like to see you implement a Dark Mode. One of the community members even wrote a github article on how to leverage Chrome to inject into the workspace and make it a dark mode being this is for my livelihood I don't dare to hack it to make it happen.ย
ย ย Would you PLEASE create even a theme that inverts the color scheme of something out there just turning black text to white and white backgrounds to black? As a developer I can't imagine this isn't more than a matter of enhancing themes or creating a new theme that makes it easier to see. I can say this would be a significant quality of live improvement for me!!
Hello Wrike team,
Is this something that we can expect in the future? ย It is really becoming a pain point for employees as to where I have stated before, people basically live out of Wrike and are looking at it all day. ย There seems to not be movement on this, and I really do not want this thread to die, or be forgotten about. ย
Hey everyone!ย
This is still on our radar, so your recommendations have been heard loud and clear! We don't have an update to give you yet, but as soon as we do, we'll be updating this thread to let you know the current status of this suggestion. Thank you for all your feedback so far!
So it's been 6 months now. Update? I've stopped using the desktop app in order to be able to use Chrome to have dark mode. I much prefer the native app (especially on a Mac).
Hi Alex Lockwood, sorry for the late reply! I've checked with the team - they are currently not planning to develop it. This might change though, so I'll be checking with the team again in the future, and I'll let you know if there are any updates!ย

Today Wrike went from a dark dark blueish color we've all become accustomed to, to a bright windows95 looking teal. I went through every theme, and they are very gaudy, the closest i could find is a dark purple? why is there 3 shades of white but not a GRAY or BLACK? This is pretty silly. This is business software not printshop deluxe. can we get some professional-looking app aesthetics please? this is pretty sad.ย
Please don't take this as a whiney complaint from an end-user who just wants their way. This is truly a poor development decision on behalf of everyone involved with Wrike and reflects poorly on the company as a whole. This tool is the life blood for all of your customers. Take this request seriously.ย
I thought this was just me! ย Is this being fixed? ย Please and Thanks!ย
Hi Joey Lopezย Paul LeoGrande, thank you for flagging this! I'm checking with the team now, we'll get back to you as soon as possible!ย

This would be such a nice feature. I use midnight black, but I really don't like how the "black" (Really just a dark purple) of the Midnight Black theme in Wrike doesn't match the black ofย Chrome and all of my other dark mode applications. Even if we could get a version with gray and black in the theme instead of purple I would be okay with that for now.
Here is an example of the mismatch in colors with the midnight blue theme next to Chrome.
Thank you for your feedback, Tanner Shelton, and also for posting a screenshot! I'm passing on your feedback to the Product team now.ย

This is honestly just being so out-of-tune. ย Apple has launched dark theme on iOS, PadOS, MacOS about one year ago. ย Pretty much every app has a 'dark mode' now to reflect this. ย Wrike is the only app which does not offer it. ย There are themes which only change the cosmetic appearance but not the main part of the screen. ย Not surprisingly if you scroll up a lot of users complain about migraine etc. ย Very surprise this is not even on the Wrike roadmap - wrong call!
Thank you for your feedback, Csaba Tarnai! Please rest assured that this topic is on the team's radar and we continue to pass on all the feedback here.ย

Bump. Common guys it's the year 2020 (nearly 2021). It can't be **that** hard to implement this.
Bump. Nudge. Poke. 2021 and still no dark mode. Pretty please with a cherry on top?ย
Hi everyone! The team has this request on their radar as they understand the need for the dark theme. They are now working on the improvements for the New Wrike Experience, and once it is rolled out, it might be possible for them to work on the dark mode.ย

Hi
I'm surprised this feature seems to be so low on the dev team's task list. Or maybe not even on their list.
This is not mainly for aesthetic, but for eye strain.
In other words, for some (or many) people, that is for their health. That should be a priority.
Even Windows now has a dark mode.
And this ticket is four years old now.
Personally, I would appreciate a medium dark theme as well: white texte on gray background for example.
Thanks
Hi C B, welcome to the Community, and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm passing it on to the Product team, you can find out more aboutย what happens with Product Feedback that we receive here on the Community in this article.
Is it possible to get a real answer to this? Is this even in the plan or on the dev's radar? Doesn't seem like it would be difficult (extensions like "Dark Reader" do a passable job, but its obviously not as good as native support) but all we ever get is Wrike reps clicking the canned response button and selecting the "I'm totally passing this onto the dev team for the 1,000,000th time" option but either that's a lie or your dev team doesn't care what we (their users) want.
I know that I won't pay for a license for any app that can't enable dark mode, not an app that I'm going to have open all day. It's bad for your eyes, bad for your productivity, and absolutely needlessly bad for the environment. Those things unfortunately exclude Wrike from consideration for myself or my appx. 1,600 users.
Welcome to the Community, Joshua Wowk. Thanks a lot for sharing your feedback with us.
I completely understand your point. This feedback is definitely on our Product team's radar, they are aware of it and they continue receiving new feedback from this and similar threads.ย
At the moment, this is not planned for development due to other priorities. I understand this can be disappointing to hear, but our team tries to work on updates with a maximum positive impact on the majority of Wrike customers. It doesn't mean they will never work on dark mode, but for now, it's not on the short-term product roadmap.ย
We will let you know if there are any changes here.ย

Please offer a Dark Mode. I love Wrike but it's killing my eyes. Thanks.
