Alternative scenarios can facilitate decisions
Many and many times in project management, I've to evaluate alternative scenarios. What happens if I complete this task late? What would happen if I spent more money on shipping a component to get it sooner? .. and so on
I always have to give information to the decision-makers in the company about the impact of a decision, to evaluate its cost-benefit ratio.
Currently, to assess the impact of a decision on Wrike, I've to make another project plan with the alternative scenario, but this is definitely not working. It is too time consuming: when a decision is made, I've to modify the original project plan to apply the decision
Instead, I'd like to create alternative scenarios without this impacting project dates and without the project team being notified of the change (since it's still in evaluation phase). It would also be an excellent communication tool with decision-makers, saving me a lot of time on ppt presentations. A key feature is that once a decision has been made, which is always recorded in the project RAID log, it should automatically be applied to the project, as if the dates and costs' tasks were overwritten.
I'd love to hear if anyone has the same or similar needs.
I don't think it's a perfect answer for what you aim to accomplish, but if you are on pinnacle I wonder if you could use the recently released Asset Scheduling & Tracking feature to create dummy users that you then assign to a duplicate project? I don't think it eliminates the logistical work, but might solve the notification as these users can be created rapidly (even imported) without an email address.
