By default, only the account owner and admins can manage assets. However, this permission can be granted to any user with a full license to manage assets as well.
You can use Wrike to schedule and manage resources such as vehicles, laboratories, video equipment, or vendors. You can also use Wrike to track offline team members. With asset scheduling, you’ll keep everything organized in one place - no more spreadsheets or endless email threads.
Most project management tools are designed for assigning tasks to people. However, teams often need to manage additional shared resources, such as equipment or specialized tools, and coordinate with colleagues who aren’t always online. With Wrike, you can create digital versions of these assets, schedule their use, track their assignments, and see how they’re being used - all in the same place where you manage your projects and teams.
Tip
Implement asset scheduling and tracking to avoid double-booking and maintain resource availability throughout high-demand project periods.
-
Manufacturing: Schedule equipment use and plan maintenance across your production lines.
-
Product Development: Manage lab space, testing equipment, and prototype machines at every stage of your project.
-
Services and Field Work: Reserve non-human assets - such as production equipment, machinery, specialized tools and hardware, vehicles and transportation resources, or physical spaces and facilities - to meet client needs.
-
Vendors and Offline Teams: Track and assign offline workers, contractors, or vendors who don’t need a Wrike user license.
-
No licensing needed: Track assets without assigning extra user licenses.
-
No email address required: Track assets without needing email addresses.
-
Prevent double bookings: Automatic conflict checks and visual scheduling help you avoid overbooking resources.
-
Centralized management: Find, assign, and report on all your resources in one place.
-
Real-time insights: Asset dashboards show current and past usage, so you can spot bottlenecks or find ways to improve.
-
Easy collaboration: Everyone who books or views assets sees the same up-to-date schedule.
