We're thrilled to announce a new feature that will empower you to take your task and project planning to the next level! Introducing Fields in Calendars - a new way to tailor your scheduling experience in Wrike.
๐ Overview
With our newest enhancement, you can now configure Fields across Calendars, Calendar views, the Space Calendar tool, and the Calendar Widget in New Dashboards. This means you can customize your calendar to seamlessly fit your workflow and project needs.
๐ ๏ธ Adding Fields to Your Calendars
Access this feature effortlessly: Fields are readily accessible next to Public links on your Calendar interface. Whether you're using system fields or custom fields, you can personalize your calendar view with ease. Utilize the search box to find and add the fields that matter most to you.
๐ Important Notes
- Now, when clicking on a task or project on your Calendar, a preview will open where you can edit your fields. Double-clicking on the same task or project will open the item in the side panel.
- You can only add and edit Fields based on your permissions within a Project or Space.
- Preview cards will display selected Field values pertinent to each item type. Directly edit system and custom field values from the Calendar to keep your projects up-to-date.ย
- You can now change assignees, change location, dates and just go to a parent project.ย
๐ง Configuration of Fields
Flexibility is key! Fields in Calendars are highly configurable:
- Calendars: Fields configured here are user-specific.
- Space Calendar Tool: Fields are shared per tool, viewable by all users with the appropriate permissions.
- Calendar View: Offers unified configurations visible to all users.
- Calendar Widget in New Dashboards: Customizable per widget for a personalized dashboard experience.
๐ Availability
This feature is available across Team, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Pinnacle plans. Note that Team and New Team plan users have access to the Calendar view and Calendar widget.

This feature will also be supported in Calendar public links. Also, weโre planning to launch multi-year calendars and improve milestones visibility ๐ฅ

Iโm excited to use this new feature! The headline got me a bit too excited, though, as I initially thought the feature allowing us to use a date custom field to populate a calendar had been released.

Same initial thought as Kelsey Rudolph, but happy to see this update nonetheless as it was something I was previously hoping for!ย
I think this new rollout is great, but I relied heavily on see the tasks' previews (such as conversation histories, attachments, etc.) in the old view. Is there any way to allow users to select which detail view they prefer? At the moment, I'm now having to open every task in a new tab to get that functionality.
Now all we need is Calendar integration with work schedules!
