Importing Task dependencies
I have been trying to incorporate dependencies into imported plans for a few weeks now. Plans that have been exported into Excel have a column named 'Depends On' holding the dependencies. However when I Import the file Wrike reports a Server Side error. After some trial and error I found that it was this column that was causing the error. If I leave it out the file loads, but I have no dependencies. I've tried renaming the column to 'Predecessors' which is the name given in the various plan views, but although the plan will import Wrike ignores the column. I assume that it is ignored because the column title is incorrect. Does anyone know if it is possible to include dependencies in an Import?
I encountered the same issue. I tried several variations to import the dependencies according to the Excel import instructions, but without success. I have opened a support ticket and am waiting for a response. I will update if a solution is found.
Hi folks! I've just looked at our documentation on this, and it looks like the column should be called "Depends On" and then you need to input dependencies in a specific format e.g. "2SS" (start to start dependency on a task in row 2). But there may be some issue so Shay Ron thanks a lot for reaching out and please do let us know after you talk with our Support agents 🙌

Have the same problem in July 2025. Predecessors listed in column "Depends On" of import file, but not imported to Wirke. Please provide solution.
Hi Maciej Cyprowski
Do have a start date and end date for your tasks? That was the issue in my case, I didnot have any date for any task. The solution was to define the schedule at the beginning of the dependency chain, I added start and end date only to the first task and got the dependencies of all tasks imported.
Yup, that was it. Adding start date and end date helped. Thanks a lot.
