Creating a Dependency on the Gantt Chart
TL;DR
You can create task dependencies on the Gantt Chart from the table or the timeline. In the table, use the Predecessors column or Successors column and enter the related task’s row number with FS, SS, FF, or SF. On the timeline, drag from one taskbar’s connection point to another task.

You can create dependencies from the table or timeline in Gantt Chart view. In the table, use either the Predecessors or Successors column with the same notation.
Note
Tasks with deferred or canceled status can't be a part of a dependency. Completed tasks can only be added as predecessors.
-
Locate a task in the table, and double-click its Predecessors or Successors cell. If the column isn’t visible, click Fields or + Add column, and select Predecessors or Successors.
- Enter the row number of the related task:
- In Predecessors, enter the row number of the task that should come before it.
- In Successors, enter the row number of the task that should come after it.
- Add a dependency type after the row number:
- FS – to create a Finish to Start dependency
- SS – to create a Start to Start dependency
- FF – to create a Finish to Finish dependency
- SF – to create a Start to Finish dependency
- Add lag or lead time if needed. For example, enter
9SS+2d. - Separate multiple dependencies with commas. For example, enter
9FS, 12SS+2d. -
Press Enter.
Note
If you enter only a row number, Wrike creates a finish-to-start dependency. For example, 9 works the same as 9FS.
