8hr/day to 24hr/day Calendar option
We are a 24-hr / 7 day a week organization and scheduling projects is a problem in Wrike when scheduling tasks that are longer then 8hr. Everything over 8hr's defaults to 1day in Wrike. I need the ability to schedule tasks that are longer in cases where shifts are 10-12 hours or when is a task will take 40hrs but can be handed off to multiple shifts and get complete in under 2days opposed to 5days. Please advise if there is a plan for this type of upgrade or work-around.
Hi Mike Verbeek, can you explain better?

You can create activities longer than 8hr and you can expand Daily capacity till 24h.
Hello - Yes. For example, I have tasks that are 19hr of effort and I would like the duration to match. When I add 19hr in the duration column it automatically changes to 2 days 3 hours. We have tried to change the work schedule for certain resources from the 8hr/day to 24hr/day like you mention, but it has no impact to the schedule.
Hi Mike Verbeek, you need to use Effort.

Not sure I understand. Can I do effort-based schedule?
HI Mike Verbeek
First of all I suggest you to read these articles about Effort:
https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010852973-Task-Effort-in-Wrike
https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500005128281-Enabling-and-Editing-Task-Effort-on-Workload-Charts
In each task you have 2 different informations:
- Duration (how many days are from start to due date) for example: 1d, 2d, 3d etc
- Effort (how many hours and minutes you want to plan to work) for example; 2h or 1h45m
The Duration specify when you have to do the activity, the Effort specify how much time you want to spend.
So you can have a task that has start date as today and due date as tomorrow (and you wil see 2days of duration) and has 12h of effort.
Thanks. I understand that. I want a task that has 15hr of effort and 15hr of duration, so it starts at 8:00am and finishes the same day at 11:00pm. Or 4hrs of effort = 4hrs duration, not 1/2 day. Can that be done?
Hi Mike, I don't know if it's yet available.
Lisa @... I found this page https://www.wrike.com/blog/set-hours-in-task-duration/ but I don't know if it's possibile.
Hi Pietro Poli, thank you for all your help here!
Mike Verbeek, although it is not possible to define the time when a task should start and end (for example: start at 9.00 AM and finish at 6.00 PM), you can indeed change the daily capacity of the relevant users so that a task which requires, for example, 18h of effort would be completed in 18h, and not in 2.25 days (as it would be if the default 8h daily capacity was in place).
I hope this information helps!
