View Library

Please allow users to save views to a "View Library" for use in other projects or folders. Views would include, Wrike fields (Assignee, Status), and custom fields (Theme, Launch Date, Industry, Product, etc.). This tool will greatly reduce the time needed to audit project information. Today the user must re-create views within each folder or project. The examples below are based on a table view format.

Examples are:

All Data View - Created and used by admins to audit for missing data required for reporting, dashboards, etc.

Required Data View - Created and used by project leaders to see all data needed to define the project, i.e.

Within the project or folder a user would see a new option on the action header row of "View Library".  Example: Table, View, View Library, Author, Group.....

  • The user would select view "View Library", then be presented with the following dropdown options;
  • 1) common views (created by an admin, company specific, available to all Wrike users)
  • 2) user views (created by and available to individual users, supporting the user's role), or
  • 3) the current state options of custom views and classic views.

The admin would create views that support company reporting such as campaign calendars, key project data. Then all users would be able to refer to and project these views for company communications, or to ensure all team members can see required data or use the view to identify missing required data.

The user would create a view that supports their role, and then save it to their user views. The user could see data consistently across all projects they support.

Hi Milissa Epps, welcome to Wrike Community 👋

This is an interesting idea, thank you for sharing it! Could you tell me if you're using Custom views

Hi Lisa,

Yes, I am using custom views, but again, I cannot use them across different projects or folders. See 2023 GTM Full Data View. This is built at the folder level

When I enter a project below that folder, no view is available.  It has to be recreated for each project.  We need a way to have a library of views that support our daily work and don’t require recreation every time a project is added.

Thanks,

Milissa

Hi Milissa Epps,

I have created a similar request, just more simple. Please support this also in order to get this topic on top!

Lisa this is not a new idea.  In fact it's what we've all been asking for over the past 4 years.  ALL the other threads about saving views asked for the same thing Milissa Epps is suggesting here.  As the community manager, you should be trying to understand what we're needing and asking for before carrying that water to the product team.

Hi Brandon Larocque! 🙋🏻‍♀️ Jumping in for Lisa here.

We recently launched the ability to copy custom views from another location, which can be quite helpful. I recommend taking a look at custom views and the new option to copy them.

Once a view is created, you can either copy it to different locations or directly copy existing views. You can find more information here

Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you! 😊
