I learnt that if yo build various dashboards and filter these on status or other dimensions, when you drag a task between one dashboard and another, you will also change the status (or dimension) of such task to match the destination dashboard.

Build a Dashboard, create N task lists for your N statuses (or another dimension) each task list is now a column on the kanban. Now if you draga task from one column to the other, it will apply the differentiating dimension.
Example; dragging from DEV to PENDING list offers status change.

Edit 12/29/17: Hi everyone, the video above has been removed because we're currently updating Dashboards. Please let us know in the comments below if an updated video would be helpful for you. Especially, if you use Custom Workflows and if you want a way to quickly change status by dragging and dropping the Board View might be a good alternative. Each status in the workflow is a column and you can move a task from one column to another to change its status.

One quick added note: To make this even more useful you can also then share the dashboard (top-right) with your team. so they don't have to do those steps over themselves.
Overall it's great that this works...but it does feel like a workaround. I wish there were a more straight forward Kanban representation of the tasks available.

Sharing Dashboards is definitely an easy and quick way to get everyone on the same page.The way Dashboards are designed allows users to customize widgets based on their unique Custom Workflows. I also wanted to let you know that we're currently looking at ways to enhance this functionality, so thank you for providing your feedback about it!
Our web team was using the DASHBOARD KANBAN. It worked well for the projects in our Web folder because it was contained and the tasks had to be sorted by PRIORITY. The other side of our house is Creative and we sort/view our schedules by date...still trying to work our how to make this happen (Kanban view and Waterfall view) to meet everyone's expectation or to get us all on a single page. Will share once we figure it out.
my tip about it is you can have only 15 dashboards on a business account.
It would be awesome to be able to make a Public view of the dashboards as to be able to have them o a Monitor at the War Room or some other way of communicating it not only to other Full Users.
@PMO PDS hi! I can definitely submit some product feedback on your behalf (for sharing Dashboards with non-Wrike users). We recently added the option to share Report Snapshots with anyone (even if they are not part of your Wrike account). When you create a snapshot, you'll get a link to a version of your Report saved exactly as it was at the moment you created the snapshot. The information on the snapshot is static, so it won't update automatically. Does that sound like it might work for your team?
Hi @Stephanie Westbrook. I work with @PMO PDS and I'm eager to see this Dashboard sharing feature.
A report is not as useful as a Dashboard for project management and it's essential to have real-time information.
I imagine using this new sharing feature on wall monitors at the office with our ongoing projects' dashboards, a substiture to the post-it kanban.
Hi Felipe! Noted, I will add a feature request for this from both you and PMO PDS. Thanks for chiming in here.
I love the idea of using wall monitors to display how things are going. One workaround might be to create a dummy user (they would have to have a Regular or External User license) and share the appropriate Dashboards with them. Then you could use those credentials to login to Wrike and display the dashboards. I know this isn't ideal because it would take up a paid user seat, but wanted to suggest it as a potential option.

This is an example of one of my most complete dashboards, not my most interesting project but I'm not allowed to share anything from those :)
We have several task flows. In my projects I use a ChangeRequest flow, a Risk Flow and a Development Flow apart from the default flow.
The most interesting view is on the Development Flow where tasks can be in Backlog, Pending, BeingDeveloped, Waiting for Validation or Validated.
As PM I create and assign tasks and developers switch states as they get work done on each one.
In the above dashbord there are widgets for:;
I NEVER show completed tasks on a Dashboard.

My two cents as well. I have created a generic KanBan Dashboard with my workflows and each time I want to apply this to a new project I duplicate the KanBan Template Dashboard. It certainly saves an enormous amount of time.
Also, I like to track various items in a project on KanBan boards. On some KanBan boards I like to track various items that must follow a workflow. For instance I am currently tracking various items in a custom Bathroom Project. Each item must be designed, custom fabricated, the metal polished, plated, and installed by our team. To track each item I simply created the workflow with these headings, and proceeded to add "Tasks" which I think about as "Items". I then proceeded to move these items through my workflow.
At first thinking about the type of work my company does as "tasks" when building the KanBan board was difficult but after changing my thinking to thinking about items on my KanBan board as "items" it allows me to enter the right information in the board.
I then create Subtasks when it is necessary to create micro tasks under each "item" that pertains to the overall project.

I completely agree about thinking of tasks as items if you're using Dashboards as a Kanban board, I do the same.
