Hide folders without active tasks/projects

Currently, when inside a space, you can filter the left sidebar by showing "All" or "Only Active" projects. Since I use folders within a space to represent each client I have, the list of folders get LONG. It would be awesome to have a way to filter by folder, not just project.

The filter would allow you to only see folders that have an active task or an active project within them. This way, you can see only folders associated with something you are working on. Now I understand you can create a widget for active projects, but folders filtering would be cool too.

Is there an update on this particular request? This would be beneficial for my team using Wrike. We filter the list to show active only, but the folders do not accurately reflect such filtering as folders will still appear even if there are not any active tasks.

I would like to contribute to this request as I keep running into this issue myself.

In addition to the requests made above regarding the "active tasks" filter, it should be possible to hide folders that appear empty based on any filter. If a filter causes a folder/project to appear empty based on filter criteria (i.e. tasks are hidden because they don't match the filter), it should be possible to have the "hide empty folders" checkbox hide those folders.

Only hiding folders that are actually empty (i.e. don't have any tasks in them at all) does not feel like an intuitive or valuable purpose for this checkbox functionality. It would make more sense to hide both folders and projects that appear empty (based on filters) and are actually empty using this checkbox.

I am constantly wading through lists of nested projects and folders that don't apply to my filtered needs simply because they cannot be hidden without applying additional filters at the folder level which is not always possible.

Hi Michael Hop, thanks for checking in here.

As the votes for this request are on the lower side, there are no plans to address this currently, but I have shared your interest in this with the Product team.

If there's anything else I can help with here please don't hesitate to ask 👍

Hi Josh Tackitt, I'm sorry to hear you're disappointed about this feature not being implemented. Please, rest assured that your feedback has been noted.

At the moment, it is possible to filter out projects and folders that are empty:

I understand this is not exactly what you're looking for but hopefully, it can be of help in certain cases. Another recommendation could be to use projects instead of folders so that you would be able to apply the relevant filters to them.

We will keep you updated in case any changes are implemented. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
