Auto select custom fields upon submission of a request form

Hi all,

I know you can set up questions within a request form to link to predetermined custom fields but is there a way to set up auto select of a custom field without being linked to a question?  I looked at setting up an automation rule but not sure there is a suitable option here either?

Hello Amy Hunter, thank you for your comment. A way to achieve this could be:
 
1- Create a blueprint from a project with its custom fields and their values.
2- When creating the request form, select the option "Create from", where you can select the relevant blueprint.
 
  
 
The project created via request submission should include the custom fields with the predefined values - in the blueprint.

Thanks @... That's very helpful.  Though would this work with a task blueprint as well?  I have been playing around with this and for some reason the custom fields aren't coming across when the task is created from the blueprint.

Hi Amy Hunter, thank you for the additional details on your case. I'm afraid that custom fields cannot be applied only at the task level, this means that they need to exist and be applied to the parent item of the tasks. Could you please double-check if this condition is being met in your case?

Amy Hunter I have a use case for this as well. @... This would be a great add for an automation. There is a trigger for if a custom field changes to something but no action to set a custom field value, this seems like a great use of the automations to do auto meta tagging with single select custom fields.
