[Status: Backburner ⌛️] Duration in Weeks

Can you please add weeks as a unit of measure in the duration of individual tasks.  This would look at working calendar weeks from a specific start date.

I'm sorry, but are you serious? Since 2017, numerous people have been asking to implement a feature that is so basic that it's unbelievable that it's not there from the beginning, and all a handful of "community team" representatives have to say is, "Please press LOVE as Facebook asks." What are we? A desperate teenager looking for attention?
Is the written feedback here not enough? Or is your forum more automated than your software and posts with x likes are AUTOMATICALLY sent to the development team?

Hello Gerrit Oestreich! Please let me explain why we ask the Community to upvote suggestions. Our Product Feedback forum works off the voting system and the information on votes is sent regularly to the Product team together with the feedback that you provide here. The votes definitely help the team understand how popular an idea is because they receive feedback not only from the Community but from multiple channels. The team aims to work on updates and new functionality that will impact most users, and that's why the amount of support is really important. At the same time, sometimes the team can't commit to working on an improvement when there's considerable interest here due to multiple reasons such as timing, priorities, analytics, and others.

It's important to note that all Community feedback is reported to the team regularly, and your insight is very helpful for the team in their roadmap planning process. Although the team is not committed to working on all suggestions we receive, some of them do get implemented. If you're interested, here's the list of ideas that have been implemented or worked on last year: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/4417998316567--From-Wrike-2021-Community-Product-Suggestions-Wrap-Up-

Thank you again for the feedback you've shared here! We'll let you know if we have any updates in relation to this suggestion in the future.

Respectfully, it's been nearly 5 years since this ticket/suggestion was made. For a very simple & useful functionality that is commonly utilized in other industry-standard scheduling software.

It blows my mind that these types of requests aren't acted upon because they don't meet an arbitrary amount of upvotes. I will say that this specific comment chain and the lack of action certainly had some affect on our company's decision not to use Wrike any longer.

Hi John Beach, welcome to the Community!

I completely understand your point. Our team can't commit to working on all or even most of the suggestions in this forum, and that's where the votes help - the Product team can estimate the amount of interest better.

We are very sorry to see you go. If there's anything that I can help you with, please let me know.

Hi.

Newbie using Wrike here. I was very surprised trying to modify a gantt chart that I couldn't input a task duration in weeks. Landed in this post to find out that it is not implemented and has not been for long....

I already upvoted and now it's 65. Will you add it to your roadmap??

Hi everyone, the team has confirmed that this request is currently backburner, so we've updated the status here to reflect this.

I know this might come as disappointing news, but the team is focused on the implementation of other updates and features that take priority and as such, there are no plans for this, at the moment.

I'd encourage anyone who is interested in this feature to continue to vote here, the more votes a suggestion has, the more we know how popular and sough-after a request is. You can see more on how we work with Product Feedback in this post.

Thanks for your feedback and the insights shared here 👍

You have got to be kidding me.  Providing duration in weeks and months is such a basic concept that it is COMPLETELY ridiculous to even ask people to vote on it.  It should have been included in the basic application design. That Wrike missed incorporating a basic functionality is one thing, to then not correct it and ask people to vote for it is straight incompetence.

Add it to your next PI and get it done.  It is not that hard.  We know that because every other product already does it.  Or do you not want to be relevant in the market?!

Hi Hernán Ulloa, welcome to the Community! Thank you for expressing your interest in this enhancement. Our Product Team is interested in this feature, but it could not prioritize it at the moment. However, I will update you if any changes are made.

John Beach, please rest assured that we are conveying all your feedback to our Product Team. Unfortunately, not all suggestions can be implemented as quickly as we'd like or be prioritized. Nevertheless, feedback remains one of our most valuable sources of information, and we rely on your insights to improve Wrike.

WHY IS THIS TAKING SO LONG!!!????

This is a really poor CX to an elementary requirement for project management.  I get zero reassurance from the backburner status.  Either Wrike is seriously committed to improving project management features, or it should pull out of that space.  I feel embarrassed for you.

Does anyone have a formula to at least be able to convert from days to weeks?

0
👍 Spot On 💡 Innovative Approach 💪 Stellar Advice ✅ Solved 🪄 Remove Kudos

Cindy Munoz

I got it to work in analytics, board and formulas below.

Duration

DDiff([Days in Project Due Date],[Years in Project Start Date])

Weeks

DDiff([Days in Project Due Date],[Years in Project Start Date])/7

Adding another upvote for this - using weeks (w) or months (m) as well as adding every(e) functionality to override default calendar settings would increase efficiency immensely in using this program. As most of us experience, we all work on different units of time and different working day calendars Having the ability to not try and translate that into default calendar working days would make life a heck of a lot easier.

Duration:
d- days, w- weeks, m- months
ed - every day, ew - every week, em - every month

Trying out and we only talk in weeks here. I may have to try another program because doing all this in days is crazy.
