[Status: Backburner ⏳] Auto assign requester when making task via request form
You know, in many cases, A requests tasks B and also follows up & work together on the task, not just forget about it.
So, a feature to automatically assign A (request) to the task A requested will be really helpful.
Thanks a lot for your detailed feedback here, Jennifer Cheng 🙌 I'm passing it on to our Product team.

Please make this a feature! It's causing a lot of issues for our team because it's a deterrent to using request forms.
Hi Olivia Godfrey, welcome to the Community 👋
I'm sorry to hear that lack of this functionality is inconvenient! I'm passing your feedback to the team now.
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else!

Lisa Hello! Has there been any updates on having this implemented? Thank you.
Hi folks, I've checked with the team again - we don't have an update for this request as it's not on the team's plans at the moment. We will let you know if there are any changes in the future.

I really can't believe this isn't a built in feature and that it's been on the "backburner" for 6 years.
A few more thoughts about this request:
1. I would want to have the choice between adding the requester as an Assignee OR as a Follower of the task. That way, there is no confusion as to who is accountable for the action item.
2. I would want the ability to have the Form be an External Form that auto-assigns Internal Users of Wrike and leaves External Users of Wrike assignment blank.
3. I would want a link to the task in the confirmation email, so that the task is automatically shared with Internal Users of Wrike. And, so they can also find the Task from their email (similar to how an Internal Form has a link to the Request after submission).
I agree completely with the details added by Florence Cao. Well stated!
Thank you folks, we really appreciate your continued feedback here!

This post goes back years... it seems to be quite a basic ask. Form submitter is assigned to project. It feels benign to add a question in form to select yourself as assignee.
Hello Karina Baird, thank you for voicing your interest in this suggestion, at the moment we don't have updates regarding its implementation, but we have passed your feedback on to our Product Team and we will keep you informed in case there are any changes 👍
6 years later and such a basic feature still not implemented....please!
I'm sending your feedback to our Product team Gareth Radley!

Hello, any update on this feature to give an option to assign it back to the creator/requester, for these many year and not yet prioritized? Please expedite the same and bring out the feature.
Hi Senthamizh Selvan, welcome to the Community! Thank you for chiming in, I understand it can be frustrating not to see this feature available yet, however please rest assured that we're passing all your comments on to our Product Team. You can check how we process feedback in this article.
Our Team is aware of the popularity of this idea, and we will keep you updated if there are any changes 👍
I would also love to see this feature implemented. It would be a great help for some of our projects created from blueprints too.
Hi Kirsten Gross, thank you for your comment. Regarding the point you mentioned about projects created from a blueprint, you can indeed predetermine assignees. Could you please provide a bit more detail on what you aim to achieve so that we can give you an accurate reply?
Thanks!
@... I know I can predetermine an assignee to a blueprint but what I can't figure out is how to get a blueprint to auto-assign the user who creates a project from said blueprint to a specific task. Does that capability exist? Thank you.
Hi Kirsten Gross, thank you for your reply. I understand your case better now; I'm afraid that option is not available, but I have passed your case on to our Product Team 👍
Hello @..., Lisa & co.,
Seeking an update on this feature request. I think there were some solid workaround solutions presented, but it would be nice to have a simpler functionality.
Additionally, at what point does a "backburner" item turn into "investigation"? I read the article on product feedback. But it was not clear how items can ever make it out of "backburner" even if it is something the community engages with.
+1 Pinging this thread, would appreciate this feature!

An automation rule set on the intake location satisfies this for us for internal requests.
Trigger: When new item created
Change assignee: Add specific / Item Author
