[Backburner ⌛️] Ability to print reports without exporting to Excel

It would be great to be able to print multi-page reports from Wrike. The only way I can get around this is to export my reports to Excel.

Hello Dallas Schweitzer! I understand that you are disappointed with the lack of direct printing of reports. Please allow me to explain how this Product Feedback forum works. We do provide this space for Wrike users to share their feedback and vote on suggestions. We have an established process of sending this feedback to our Product team, along with stats and analytics like usage, some account info, etc. I'd suggest checking out more info on the process here.

Unfortunately, due to various reasons like priorities, other planned enhancements, and others, the Product team can't commit to working on all or even the majority of the suggestions we receive here on this forum. At the same time, the team does receive all feedback and it may influence the team's decisions for the future roadmap. Just to give you an example, here's a list of Community product suggestions that have been implemented or worked on in 2021.

Having said all that, we still understand that if some suggestion is of particular interest and need to you, you'd be disappointed that it's not available and not planned by the team. That's why I wanted to share a bit more detail on how we work with your feedback here. It really is an important factor, but it's not the only one, I hope you understand.

If you have any questions on the above, or anything else, please do let me know. And welcome to the Community!

The majority (7 out of 12) of the implemented suggestions have lower votes than this topic. This leads me to believe that the customer's voice may not be high enough on the priority list. This topic is the reason we renewed less than 1/3 of our licenses.

Lisa  While I understand and agree that suggestions that are highly supported by the user base, and thus represent wide spread desire, should be taken seriously, I still don't accept this as an excuse to continually fail to implement fundamental PM features year after year after year. Some of these implemented suggestions were small, simple tweaks or additions that are indeed needed. But to go 4 or 5 years saying "no" to a core feature like proper Gantt chart reporting, is NOT listening to user feedback. People have been adamantly requesting this for years. So when DOES this get addressed? Where on the priority list does it sit? Why can't it be worked into the development cycle sometime within a 5 YEAR period? Many of the suggestions that were implemented in 2021 had a moderately short development cycle; a few weeks to a few months or so. But after 5 years we still don't have something some of the users have been screaming for makes no sense.

Adding color to the create new item dialog, updating the icons in the interface, adding an Invite shortcut link in the Create button (+) menu have all been implemented. Yet, NONE of these items as any impact on actual functionality. Managing Gantt reports is a core feature that absolutely impacts the platform's functionality. I could care less about new icons when I still can't provide my client with a Gantt chart.

So what sets the prioritization of development? If eye candy is more important than filling holes in fundamental features, do we have our priorities mixed up? I don't think that eye candy will lose customers. But it's been shown over and over that you do lose customers to things like not have a proper Gantt report.

Hi Will Salen and Jason Pontius, thank you for taking the time to share your candid feedback, we appreciate it. As outlined above by Lisa, the team makes the decision on what to work on based on all of the available information. This includes reviewing all of our customer's usage, analytics, and feedback from the various channels that we have. Because we want to ensure that we focus on feature releases that will have the biggest impact for the most users, we do need to prioritize and that is why this is a backburner for now.

We do understand that the backlog status isn't what you'd like to have here. As you may know, our team would love to be able to work on most of the Community suggestions, but they can't. We do have many ideas from this forum that have been implemented, but the team can't commit to working on all, or even most of them. That being said, the Product team is still interested in this idea and they're paying close attention to the feedback here with plans to review it in the future.

I'd like to thank you again for your contributions here. Please do continue to share your feedback which will all be passed on to the team.

Cansu  Forgive my bluntness, but this response reinforces our frustrations. This is the same type of canned response we have been given for years. As a group, we have demonstrated how these answers are not well received and do not always align with reality.

First, we constantly are told "backburner for now". This is misleading as it is not backburnered for now, it is backburnered indefinitely. Year after year is not "for now", it shows that it will never happen.

Second, reviewing of customer's usage and feedback would clearly show that this has been a big topic for a number of years across multiple threads. Customers have left because of it, some only renew a portion of their licenses because of it, others have threatened to leave if it isn't addressed. This is feedback; this is statistical data straight up. What more can we do to show the need of this?

Third, as stated recently, the dev team adds features and enhancements with much less user feedback than this topic gets. So why are things being worked on that have less interest and feedback? This does not show to us that Wrike indeed listens to what is most important to its users. What prioritization model is being used here?

Lastly, the canned statement of the team being "interested in the idea and paying close attention to the feedback with plans to review it in the future" is rubbish in my opinion. We've heard that for over 4 years. I don't buy it anymore. Actions speak, and lack of action shows a lack of interest.

My opinion based on observation is that Wrike development doesn't want to tackle it because it is more challenging than new icons and colored UI elements. I feel that this continues to get kicked down the road because nobody wants to deal with it.

Respectfully,

Jason

Thank you for continuing to share your thoughts with us here Jason Pontius. We do understand that the fact that this improvement is not currently planned is disappointing for you, and we are sorry you feel this way.

We will ensure to continue passing on your feedback here, and we will let you know if anything changes. I'm afraid that's all we can do at this point.

@Wrike - this is pretty embarrassing. FIVE YEARS on a basic request for printing and still "on the back-burner". I don't know of any other application that can't do something as basic as printing.

DanO I can't agree with you more! The frustration over the lack of response to these types of requests is immense. You can see from my posts just in this one thread over the last few years that I am beyond frustrated. Every time I revisit this, my anxiety level goes up because I am almost to the point of being angry over it. We are powerless and helpless to Wrike's lack of attention to what we scream about. Nothing we have said or done has made any difference; even people leaving Wrike for other platforms. I have spent hours sharing feedback on these posts, having calls with Wrike staff, discussing issues with the development teams, showing examples of some of my spreadsheets to make up for missing features, participating in surveys and calls to get "feedback".  And nothing has ever resulted in anything implemented.  It has become a waste of my time; I no longer participate in the betas or the surveys and feedback calls because it's not worth my time and energy.

I actually feel for Lisa having to shoulder all of our feedback and continue to tell us "not now", "sorry but it's not in the pipeline", and "we will continue to pass along this feedback". I am sure she gets tired of this repeated cycle.  It's not her fault that the development teams don't prioritize fundamental deficiencies in the platform; she's just the messenger. But I am human, and I can't help but to respond with great disdain when I hear these responses.

I continue to hold out hope that someday before I retire, die, or otherwise stop using Wrike, that they will address a handful of core functions that they seriously lack.
