[Status: Not planned] Editing Notification Types in the Inbox
I would love to be able to edit what kind of notifications come into the inbox.
Also, more specifically be able to be notified of dependencies being completed.

Lisa - thanks for adding occasional updates to this thread, and I've been a Wrike user long enough now (2+ years) to see that your team makes great improvements, and on a regular basis, but also that those improvements are often the revenue-producing ones, not the ones existing users most need to be successful using your product. You need to stay in business, I get that, but it's also cheaper to keep each customer than to replace them (i.e., churn is bad).
So, when you say "but cannot fit it on their roadmap right now ahead of other planned enhancements." let's remind the Product Managers of these tidbits about this feature request to Manage Notifications so that the Wrike Inbox is Useful:
Bottom line: it's time to throw us this bone.
This is SO TRUE. Fully agree with Jamie. Like that time you took all the workload function feedback and made it an "add-on". Pf.
This one is one of the KEY factors most people in our company hate Wrike. And now we're looking into other tools, probably moving away from Wrike soon.
Amen brothers and sisters! I’ve gotten Wrike adoption from 1 project manager in one department of our company to our entire project management office and 40 cross functional team members. This is their biggest gripe and my biggest challenge in making users happy as the Wrike champion in my organization. New payed features, that often seem like nickel and diming are added continuously but improvements to the actual user experience are neglected. I am starting to consider recommending we move away from Wrike before it is too late. We are thousands of dollars per month on this product and I am starting to feel that Wrike doesn’t really care about its user base when I keep seeing the usual "we’ve brought up your request but it isn’t on the roadmap" for months on end for features that competing products have.
Being able to further control notifications would be amazing. We're managing with email notifications (most users have them switched off), but just like some of the comments above the regular notifications clutter up the Wrike inbox.
We also have frequent occasions where a user will complete NEXT MONTHS task because they are working from the notification within the inbox (yes I know it clearly has a date on it - but still!!!).
As mentioned above we don't need notifications for regular tasks - they show up on the dashboard. Being able to disable this one notifications would be incredibly powerful for us and make our users more efficient.
Agreed!! All these issues are very frustrating and severely limit the user-friendliness of Wrike!
Many of these comments are 2 years old - why hasn't this issue been fixed?
Hi everyone, thanks so much for your feedback, there are so many good points here, and they are all being passed to the Product team. I completely understand where you're coming from with this, and so does the team that considers this enhancement a very important one. At the same time, many things and pieces of feedback have to be considered for this, and that is why this suggestion isn't on the short-term roadmap at the moment. I'll get back to you in Q4 after checking again with the Product team.

One of my users just contacted me today about this. (I'm the system admin for my org.) He's a quiet/non-complaining type, so you know if he's saying something that others are experiencing it too.
User: "This happens to me a lot in wrike. I see a notification pop up on my desktop <<Me: These are chrome notifications being turned on>>. I then open wrike to see what it was and it's not in my inbox. I see it in slack, too <<Me: these are from the slack integration to individual wrike folders>>, but in wrike is as if nothing happened even if I refresh it. Am I missing a setting??"
Basically, I told him that the chrome add-on and slack integration (as well as email integration) is more fully featured to give notifications for all sorts of things like tasks you watch, comments, folders you own, etc. BUT The Mac desktop app only gets inbox notifications for tasks you have been assigned to or @mentioned.
WRIKE DEVS---- Is there any traction on moving this off the backburner soon?
Just to add one more note-- my user is a Developer and suggested that if the app 'inbox' isn't set up to handle these notifications, the perhaps a notification center in the app would be easier to build out to listen for the webhooks.
Also, he mentioned "after I refreshed, it showed up in stream" <-- which is another place to get updates, but it doesn't have any notification icons like the inbox does. (Ideally-- inbox and stream should just be combined into one tab.)
Having to manually 'refresh' to see the same info in stream that just popped-up in a notification seems backwards tho.
This comment would make my life much better. I currently receive upwards of 60 irrelevant Wrike Bot notifications per day. It ruins my workflow and makes me miss important tasks. Please implement this feature!
Hi everyone! Improving notifications is planned for 2020, but I don't have ETA yet, so I'll let you know as soon as I can, hopefully in Q1 2020. Thanks a lot for your support for this suggestion!

Dear Wrike Team - Could you please help me out here. This Issue has over 100 upvotes and countless comments, most users dare for this feature, and there are some more requests for the similar feature here.
I think it is quite essential for Wrike to get that notifications you need, and to make email more and more superfluous. So why do we have to wait for years to get this done???
Hi Florian Kislich, thank you for reaching out! When a suggestion on this forum reaches 60 upvotes, we ask the Product team to add a status to it on the Community - here's the post about our statuses: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360014354593--Read-Me-Product-Feedback-forum-Guidelines-and-Statuses
We also pass on all your feedback constantly. At the same time, we cannot guarantee that all suggestions will be implemented, even though the team would love to implement many of them. The team has to prioritize based on various factors - here's a post on what happens to product feedback in case you're interested: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360019106654--Read-Me-What-happens-with-Product-Feedback-
Having said all that, some of the suggestions here do get implemented, so we continue to work with the team on each of them 🙂

Hello Lisa,
Has there been any progress made on implementing this added feature? Controlling notifications is a key gripe that's been expressed from my users & we've already had a few key stakeholders disable their accounts because their inboxes were being bombarded with project update notifications. If we have them disable notifications altogether that is unfortunately never an option since they would never bother to check Wrike for their to-do's on a daily basis. We really need some way of putting more control in the users hands of filtering out the notifications they want to see vs the ones they would prefer not to. You had mentioned back in November 2019 that improving Notifications was planned for 2020. Please let us know latest on that front. thanks very much!
Hi Lisa,
As Kevin Karl points out... we are well into 2020 now. Can you share more plans?
If this feature is truly on a Product Roadmap for this year your Product Team ought to know which quarter it's expected to be worked on and launched.
Pardon our skepticism, but we lose critical users weekly over the uncontrollable noise / missed notifications that this feature would address.
Funding for our next renewal of Wrike is now at risk. Wrike has very little credibility within our organization at this point, despite years of championing its adoption. As others have said, this feature-fix is make or break for adoption and your company seems to be choosing 'break.'
Hi Kevin Karl & NCWIT Admin, thanks a lot for reaching out!
I totally understand your confusion here. The team are working on different projects at the moment, after that, they are planning to turn their attention to notifications. Unfortunately, I don't have any more details right now. Please rest assured that I'm keeping a very close eye on this suggestion, and once I know more, I'll let you know here.

Another frustrated Wrike user on the lack of getting notifications when a task I am assigned to has any sort of update, and I don't receive a notification in my "Inbox" without someone @ing me. Hard thing to figure out is, how did they decide to have an email go out but not have a notification WITHIN Wrike?? Boggles my mind. Hope this issue gets resolved very soon!
Hi Hamzah F. Ahmed,
thanks for supporting this issue with your comment. Did you also upvote for it? Hope it helps!
Not having this makes it really difficult to keep track of task updates if you can't see them in your inbox without @ mention. The inbox should keep a complete current list of updates otherwise you have to look multiple places to figure out updates -- Activity stream, email, inbox, etc.
Honestly, if wrike were well organized there would be one central location for task updates. It seems to me that the wrike developers may not be dog-feeding their own software because there's a lot of a little annoyances with it that are obvious when one uses the software.
I'm wary of continuing to use wrike when it seems like the focus is on adding random new features instead of fixing existing usability issues. This has been on the backburner for years apparently? Absolutely ridiculous.
It's these kinds of usability issues that keep people from recommending or continuing to use the software. If that's not apparent, it should serve as wakeup call.
An Inbox filter would seem to make sense to allow users to control what kinds of notifications they want to see in there. Even though most users may not necessarily need to know every single thing that happens in a project, there are some key users (project managers especially who will be using this tool the most) who most likely do need this functionality.

If Inbox filters are not a possibility, then perhaps there is a way to achieve this by expanding the Activity Stream widget in the Dashboard as a work around, but this would still not be ideal since users would have to reference 2 different places.
Obviously the more simple & easy to use the tool, the better chance it has of achieving broad scale adoption across the company.
Hey everyone, thank you for all of your feedback here!
The Product team is currently planning on working on notifications in general at the end of the year. If there are any changes in regards to the status of this suggestion, I'll be sure to let you know.
Hi All, Just looking for an update on the above. Notification to the task assignee on status changes really is essential to keep things simple and streamlined for us also.
Look forward to your feedback.
Regards,Stuart Loney
Hi Stuart Loney, welcome to the forums!
The team still has plans on working on the Notifications at the end of this year and to continue this work in 2021. Once we have updates from the team, we'll make sure to let you know!

In particular the ability to follow a task or project and get a Desktop/app notification, while opting out of the Email equivalent, of when somebody leaves a comment in an entity you are following, without the @mention happening. I agree with many other users this is a big issue as a lot of users are use to other apps that don’t require you to @mention each and every time, for example when you leave a general update. So really want to add a +1 for when you guys get to notifications, hopefully sooner than later, you allow for following and getting all updates as to what’s going on, even if time is tracked and that sort of activity, via Inbox/Desktop notification, and not Email.
Thanks!
Thank you Al Sape! I'm checking with the team right now, and I'll let you know once I have an update. Thanks for bumping this thread!

Meanwhile, as a workaround, I suggest using the Wrike mobile app.
It's funny, but there I get push-message if any activity is recognized on tasks I follow. As I miss at the desktop application so much.
Hi everyone! I've checked with the Product team, and currently, they don't have this suggestion in their short-term plans due to other priorities. We understand that this might come as disappointing news to you, but please rest assured that we'll keep it on the team's radar and we'll continue to pass on your feedback on this subject to them.

After delaying it for years this is a punch in the face for everyone waiting for it. thanks for nothing.
I don't like to rant but wrike gives me good reason to do so. Since I/we began to use it some years ago NOTHING has been improved. No update on notifications system. No dark mode as requested by many. Instead new features have made UX worse and unintuitive, useless dashboards and filters that you have to click through to finally find the tasks again somewhere. Recently switching between workspaces was removed which was essential for me and used steadily. Now a re-login into the goddamn SAME account is required every time. And just right now this made me being stuck with wrike only telling me I'd have no access to this [my] account. I wonder what the devs do and if they follow any senseful roadmap at all. Most members don't use our team workspace anymore because of these bad decisions. I'm fed up with this. When I have some spare time again I'll look for an alternative to this mess.
I'm sorry to hear about your disappointment Jannik Mewes! Your feedback will be passed on to our Product team.
The team considers the Community feedback when planning, and we've recently had some of the suggestions released (you can check them out in the pinned section of the Product Feedback forum). At the same time, you're right to say that not all suggestions get implemented. Here's more info on how that works.
We will continue to ask for updates on this particular suggestion to make sure it is on the team's radar. And we will be very sorry to see you go, so please let me know if there's anything that we can help you with.

Actually there's a solution for people who are fed up with how things are handled by wrike: Don't threaten to leave, but make it true and leave. There are some amazing competitors where community is taken more serious, development is faster and the product offers a better UX and UI. Even with automated data import from wrike. That's it, bye.
Hello Jannik Mewes, I'm sorry to hear that you've left Wrike. Here in the Wrike's Community, we try to create a space where Wrike users can ask questions, share best practices, engage in discussions, connect and learn from each other and it's unfortunate to hear your experience with the Community wasn't satisfactory.
Thank you for sharing, I've passed on your feedback to my team.
