Hi Jory, although it's not possible to add a prefix to a Project, you can, from today, specify prefixes in Request forms that create Projects from templates.

By selecting a question to trigger the prefix (except Upload and section header), the answer to this question will be added as a prefix to all Subfolders/Subprojects, tasks, and subtasks of a Project. As outlined above, the Project title will not have any prefix.

Looking forward to hearing what you think of this.

Stephen, Thanks that works. Would be great to get a Suffix option too!

Hi Stephen, Is the prefix as the only option for automatic renaming of folders and projects when duplicating a template? This makes it difficult to navigate the left panel since the prefix pushes out the more descriptive names of sub project or sub folder elements. I realize that the user can drag out the width on that left panel, but it would be really nice to have that suffix option when renaming duplicate templates. I already upvoted Jory, but I wanted to share why I think this is important. Thanks!

@Jory - glad to hear the prefix work for you and we really appreciate the feedback on the suffix too.

@Anne - thanks for your input here too. I understand that adding a prefix makes the names a little larger. The suffix would be helpful to identify tasks without moving the panel so thanks for feeding that back to us.

If there's an update on this soon, I'll be sure to update you all here. Thanks again 👍

Hi,

Here to support suffix option too!

Will also like to suggest having prefix/suffix with running numbers. For example, auto naming task 1,2, 3, 4, etc

Please make the suffix option possible. I have a 147 line project template that is made up of a combination of folders, projects, and tasks that I manually add a suffix every time I duplicate it for a client.

Our team would really like to see a suffix option added as well for the same reasons mentioned.

Any progress with this? Also seeing if you can add auto naming/numbering tasks.

Lisa, is your team looking at how many similar requests are on the platform? I've found at least 7 other requests for this product within your help forum. I'm sure if your team did the due diligence to see how many requests are out there, it would be 60 at least!

Suffixes would be very useful for us. We would greatly prefer to suffix our project numbers on tasks as opposed to prefixing them.

Hi everyone, thanks for your support here!

Ashley Parks you're right, here's a thread that already has a Product status:

I'll be updating it again in the coming weeks after checking with the Product team 🙂

Hello, I love the Prefix option on the Request Forms, however, referring back to part of Jory's initial question: "Be able to add a prefix or suffix to an existing project . . ."  We ALWAYS rename a project after it is initially created. It is still extremely tedious to update the prefix for each task individually. Help!!!

Thank you for your feedback Stacey Barhydt, and I'm sorry that the lack of this functionality causes inconvenience. I'll pass your feedback to the team and I'll let you know when there's an update from them.
