Can you believe that our team is solving this 2 year old issue by using custom fields?

Thought about Shane's idea of custom fields but wasn't sure how I could utilize. My first thought was to create a custom field for "Noon delivery" then create a widget that shows only noon deliveries, but I couldn't figure out how to do that.ย

Let me know any other workarounds you have.ย

Specific time deadlines is a must. This request has been in the community since 2017. Now we are discussing a work around?!?!

I'm already lobbying for and testing alternative solutions to Wrike.

Shane King Can you provide a few more details? What do your custom fields look like? do you create dashboards or custom reports, etc.ย

Anything you can share will help everyone.ย

    Thank you, Marj

We created Custom Fields `AM` and `PM` currently, since our deliverables either need to be before noon or before EOD to be on time.ย

You could potentially iterate here by creating a custom field and values 1-24 for hourly deliverables.ย

For more minute units of time โ€” custom fields is probably not a usable solution for you. ๐Ÿ™‚

Congratulations on 3 year anniversary of this request! How could we not have an option for a due date in any project management software?

While I understand that custom fields can be used having it as standard would be extremely beneficial. I am on the Professional plan which does not have custom fields. I used to use ToodleDo which is a simplistic task management tool that I out grew and even they have start and due times for tasks. Having this feature helps in knowing what is to come first and also allow for sorting on the time so that a list flows from start to finish.

    Lisa I appreciate your position.

So what is our recourse? To annually/biannually come into the community, up vote all comments, and make another post requesting this feature for the next three years or more?

Well here's yet another post requesting this feature.

It seems like leaving the product is a more likely solution.

I have to agree that it is rather disappointing to see a request that has been here for three years still not even being planned for the future. How does something like this get prioritized?

Hi Martin van der Merwe, welcome to the Community!

Hereโ€™s some background on why this feature is not planned at the moment (I shared this at the end of 2019, and it's still true):

Currently, our Product team doesnโ€™t see that the majority of our customers go granular with tasks they manage in Wrike. For example, the vast majority of tasks have a duration that is set in days, not hours.

Implementing due time in tasks is a significant feature design and implementation effort. It is not as easy as adding just one more task attribute into a task view. Wrike has many different views and a lot of built-in business logic that drives how task dates behave and all of this will have to be considered before the team can make task scheduling model support task due time. The team believes that our users appreciate new features as much as they appreciate the consistency of UX and overall product quality. Thus adding a half baked way to support task due dates is not a trade-off they are ready to make.

The Product team will continue monitoring how usage patterns of our customers evolve, if they continue to drive towards more granular management of task effort, time tracking and thus warrant making our task scheduling support task due time as well.

The Community team continues to pass on all the new feedback that we get here, and we'll definitely let you know once there are any news on this suggested feature.ย

Thanks again for your input here!ย

New to Wrike.ย  Trying to learn all the in's and out's.ย  I'd like to be able to plan a recurring task that is a meeting for specific people.ย  i'd like that meeting to happen at a specific time.ย  Unless I'm reading these posts wrong that is not possible in Wrike at this time.ย  Is that correct?

Hi Rick Church, welcome to the Community!

That is correct, it is currently not possible to schedule a task for a specific time in Wrike. If you are looking for some tips for organising meetings in Wrike, I'd recommend checking out this Wrike Discover course on the topicย ๐Ÿ˜Š
