Will anything change here in the near future? Otherwise Wrike will not be interesting and usable for our agency.

    Hi all,

    ย

I spoke with my Wrike account manager and he said that this is indeed on the team's radar. It is a big change to the structure of how Wrike is built, but he gave some ideas for workarounds while it gets looked at. I suggest that if you are looking for a quick fix, reach out to your Account Rep to give you some ideas on what to do in the meantime.

Indeed - he mentioned that the [Not Planned] tag indicates a response form the product team, but he said he would ask the Community team to take a look at the page again and update as required. Hoping to see that at some point :)

This feature would be great. I will to keep you on track during the day. Ensure you're not spending too much time on certain tasks, and reminds you to keep on track from task to task. Some tasks are due at times during the day so very important for this!

If it is going to take a long time to get the time element added to when a task is due maybe start by just adding a time type custom field.

+1 here too. ย There is real value to having the ability to sync just individual tasks to Google Calendar, most other apps take an entire set of owned tasks and put that on the calendar, which I think is overkill. ย In particular I use tasks as meetings. ย So this is not going to work well for me still until there is the ability to add a time to the task, which incidentally about every other app I looked at closely before moving to Wrike (Asana, Clickup, Hive, Teamwork most closely) had the ability to add the time.

If you guys add the time, along with the Google calendar being just on a per-task basis, not every task, you would really have another differentiator feature on Wrike.

    Thanks for listening!

Looks like this has been an issue with users for 2 or 3 YEARS.ย  I would find this very helpful, especially for dependent tasks that may only take an hour or two to accomplish.ย  It would also be nice to get reminders at the appointed time as opposed to getting a single reminder for all tasks due at the beginning of the day.

Hi everyone, thanks so much for your votes and comments here!

This suggestion, being one of the most popular on the Community, is indeed on the radar. At the same time, as it's not on the roadmap and no ETA is available, so the status remains as it is. Rest assured that this topic brought up very often. I'll make sure to update you here when I find out anything new.ย

Thank you for the update, Lisa!

Would you be able to give us some background on this? If this is the second highest requested item, but is this not on the roadmap is this because it requires significant infrastructure changes? I think we all understand that these are purely product feedback suggestions to help make the product better, but it can be frustrating when the community really pushes for a change that will help improve their workflows and the system overall only to have it not planned. Any background to help us understand why this has not been added to a roadmap would be greatly appreciated!

Might be the wrong place to request this, but I could see an integration for "reminders" as a stopgap. Using Slack they have a built in tool "/remind" that allows common-sense language reminders at a certain time. If Wrike could push a Labs feature that lays on top Wrike, like so many other features they trial, I feel like that would at least help the multitude of users looking for this feature.

    Example:

In a task with a two week start date, that's a few days out, I would love to be able to add an invisible comment of "/remind check for subject line Friday at 8am" and then Friday at 8am I get a notification and an Inbox notice from Wrikebot.Even a dropdown time selector for reminders could serve this function.

I get that I could create tasks but in the slew of tasks I am reviewing, having an item pop up and tell me something would be best.

Not having the ability to set milestone reminders within a task that will appear on my dashboard is a MAJOR drawback from me. The suggestion of setting them in Outlook is not a solution but an inefficient work around-if I am going to manage a project through Microsoft, then I don't need Wrike. Please raise this to the top of the list of improvements!

A similar ability to simply set a reminder for a project or task for a particular day and time would work just as well in my bookโ€”if that is something that is quicker to implement.

Hi everyone!ย ๐Ÿ‘‹Thank you so much for continuing to vote for this feature and sharing valuable use cases!

Hereโ€™s some background on why this feature is not planned at the moment:

Currently, our Product team doesnโ€™t see that the majority of our customers go granular with tasks they manage in Wrike. For example, the vast majority of tasks have a duration that is set in days, not hours.ย

Implementing due time in tasks is a significant feature design and implementation effort. It is not as easy as adding just one more task attribute into a task view. Wrike has many different views and a lot of built-in business logic that drives how task dates behave and all of this will have to be considered before the team can make task scheduling model support task due time. The team believes that our users appreciate new features as much as they appreciate the consistency of UX and overall product quality. Thus adding a half baked way to support task due dates is not a trade-off they are ready to make.ย

The Product team will continue monitoring how usage patterns of our customers evolve, if they continue to drive towards more granular management of task effort, time tracking and thus warrant making our task scheduling support task due time as well.

Having said all that, the Community team will still be asking for updates regularly and I will get back to you when there's an update.

    Have a great day!ย

Lisa, with all due respect, you assertion that its not needed/wanted by the users is BS. If you look at the start date of this string its in the years. Because of this short coming we are forced into having two applications. As soon as EMS has two form features we are dropping you.

Lisa Thank you so much for the detailed response and for discussing this with the product team.ย I do think there might be room to compromise with adding in "Time" somewhere in the system. This could be done as a custom field type.

    https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360010465513-Custom-Field-Type-Time

I feel like based on the other field types, that adding time as on option there would not be too difficult. It already supports date. Then from there the only additional functionality that would have to be added would be in filtering tasks/projects by this field type. I see two scenarios: 1, where people want a time of delivery and 2, a time range (events, time it takes to produce, etc.) With that being said, maybe this would justify two new field types: time and time range.ย

Another area this would come in handy is in the calendar view and being able to sort tasks or projects by these values.ย

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Thank you!

    Chris

    (Edited )

    Hi Lisa,

Has the Product Team really based their decision on our current usage of going "granular" with task management?

Based on our company's use, this observation is 100% irrelevant. We intentionally do not go granular right now because it is such a pain to set a task to 1hr vs 3hr etc and it gives almost no visibility in the Gantt Chart or anywhere else within the system. It's not something that can be set using the Wrike forms either, which is how almost all our tasks are created. Most of our employees don't even know it exists because our direction deemed it unhelpful.

If instead there was the ability to simply input a time or time frame right beside the date picker (e.g. 15:00 or 15:00-18:00) we would immediately use the tool.

We have a serious need for this feature - our current workaround is elementary: we write the due time of the task in the title, but due to some APIs we use there are some tasks where we cannot put this much info into the title so then we are stuck. And this approach gives us zero visibility in our project planning. Our Outlook emails are still hugely cluttered with appointments and meetings as a result, it's one of the main reasons we are struggling to move people solely to Wrike for internal communication purposes.

Has the Product Team considered distributing a survey? Or display a review at the top each user's Wrike page (like they do for other feedback sometimes?)

    Thanks for your consideration,
    Soraya

    Lisa,

I echo my colleagues.ย  I know you're only relaying what Product "concluded", but the Community is clearly stating here that you are not hearing us.

"Time" doesn't have to be fully integrated. In other companies, they develop an MVP (Minimally Viable Product) to minimally satisfy their client's needs, and then prioritize the "more complex backend" in sprints to ultimately get to the desired standard.ย

It sounds like your Product team wants to do an "all or none" approach to this feature request. I believe this is a result out of your Product team's own thoughts on feelings towards the feature, rather than reflecting the needs of the community.

This thread should not be a venting session, but it's turned into one. It should be a place where Community ideas are explored, nurtured, and placed in development. If you are not going to implement the Community's ideas (of now nearly 3 years), then why offer this forum at all? I must say that for such a clearly passionate Community Need request to be dismissed like this is not only wrong, but it looks really bad on the company as a whole as to how Wrike adjusts based on the Community's needs.

You have a commitment to your Community. Don't think enough of us want this feature? Send out a poll. I'm sure everyone on this thread is confident the numbers will go into the Community's favor.

Thanks a lot for your comments! A survey sounds like a very interesting idea, and if our Product team decides to go for it at some point, I'll definitely let you know!

This Community serves as a space to share tips, help your fellow Wrike users and also to get help. Of course, the Product Feedback forum is one of the most popular on the Community. Some of the suggestions posted here get implemented, but we can't promise that everything will become a part of the product. Stephanie explains it in this post, hope you don't mind if I quote her here:

The community has a big voice, we look at your votes, we read your comments and what you sayย influences our Product Team's roadmap.ย
    ย
Why aren't all features being released? Simply put, we just can't release everything. Sometimes what one person asks for conflicts with what someone else needs.ย Sometimes it's just not the right time,ย or,ย as amazing as a request is,ย adding functionality would weigh down the Workspace. Sometimes we even have ideas that haven't been posted but we knowย theyย will help.ย
    ย
Moral of the story? The votes, comments,ย and threads you start in the Product Feedback section make a difference and allow you to connect directly to the Product Team.ย
    ย
I understand this doesn't provide a solution to what we're discussing here, but please rest assured that all your feedback is passed on to the team!

I switched from Teamwork Projects to Wrike because it is so much more robust, however now seeing that there are no task reminders via the calendar function, I am disappointed. This is a tool we use to remind staff of all sorts of recurring tasks as well as critical client/vendor meetings. We do not utilize google calendar, so needing to add an integration is a pain. This is a critical feature for our company and would be wonderful if you could get this higher up on the feature priority list!ย

Yes to DUE TIMES. Our team has midday deliveries across time zones so there's no setting or workaround I can figure out to have a task due midday or at a specific time. If I have a task that is completed that houses deliverables that are due noon EST, there's no alert for me to ensure delivery at that time. I oversee dozens of tasks so things can easily slip past there due TIME. thanks!
