[Status: Launched! ๐] Sort Comments by Newest at the top
Can we have the newest comments on projects and tasks be at the top of the list of comments? This allows me to see at a glance the latest comment instead of having to scroll to the bottom of the list.
Thanks.
Patricia!ย Thank you for the LOLs!ย This is the best comment ever.ย Makes me wonder whether everyone at Wrike sorts their email threads in ascending order, lol.ย
ย
Patricia Broder lol I would not hold my breath - and I believe the dev team actually tries to make the product better with logical updates that customersย actually want... but there is obviously some manager still at Wrike who is the CEO's nephew or cousin and who has never actually graduated anywhere... making "executive decisions" that directly go against the entire dev team.ย ย
Thatย has to be what is happening at Wrike.ย Nearly a decade of great suggestions and complaints to improve the product... and we get things nobody asks for (LIGHTNING) which completely obliterate efficiency and user familiarity with the core product lol.ย It's like that manager leans back in his big chair and smiles every time he nixes a great idea and sends the dev team down another path that wastes time and money.ย He definitely wears his shirts on his feet... or believes he is Michael Scott from "The Office" and sees Wrike as the Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company :)
I have to admit that after all these forums and discussions and "upvotes" I can easily imagine they based that series on Wrike's corporate HQ and I see all the characters of The Office working somewhere over there for real.ย It makes the pain of certain things in the application very bearable :).ย How many "updates" have been brought to use by Dwight or Michael, Robert California or Andy, or...Nellie Bertram... indeed... LOL
@John Rokoczy - I'm not sure you will see this tag since it can't find you in their DB. SMH
This is a HUGE problem with most of the vendors I use & I hate it. Zoho has lost my trust now when I used to sing their praises.
If you don't know what's going on in the world & who/what owns almost all of the companies worldwide, you will just blame it on this one company.
I do know what's going on, so I am going to have to say that most of these companies all doing the same thing (not the tiny companies) & not just that, but them revamping their software (especially after 2020) & REMOVING features I really needed (not Wrike this time), this is not a coincidence.
I learned & was shocked when talking to my website coder many times that from a geek's perspective, they don't give a (blank) about the customers, they only care about themselves & what they want. He gets triggered when I complain about companies that make things harder, not easier. I have a very logical GUI type brain, so I notice these things.
User friendly? What's that?
Move something so I can't even find it anymore.
And they are all followers. They always copy what other sites/software do or they don't learn from their competition so they have their better features & then find out what the customer wants that makes their software better so they implement those. I don't expect software companies to add every feature customers want, but if make sense & makes the customer's time on the software easier, why not?
I'm HUGE when it comes to software being very easy to navigate so it's 1-2 clicks max. Most software companies don't even care or know what GUI, so they don't bother to hire someone to do that for them.
I'll stop now otherwise I could be here all day. LOLย
Michelle K. Companies exist because they are able to market their products successfully, whether they work or not lol.
I saw this comment today and was thrilled--until I saw the date:ย
https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000141329/comments/360000564354 -
Is the status on this request "launched" simply because they've implemented the (terrible) contextual "bottom" and "top" buttons, or does "launched" mean that Wrike is actually developing an option to sort comments in descending order?
Hi everyone! We appreciate your continued feedback here, thank you for posting it.ย
The "Launched" status here refers to those quick buttons. This may not be an ideal solution for everyone, but it addresses the use case shared in the original post here as the "Last update" button allows you to jump to the latest update quickly.ย
We understand that it may be frustrating to see that not all of your suggestions can be implemented in Wrike. Even though this forum is driven by your votes and statuses, we can't deliver on every idea. There's a lot our Product team wishes to do based on your suggestions, but it's not always feasible.
Please be assured every piece of feedback matters. That's the whole reason for this forum and the processes we have.ย We're always looking for ways to fit customer-generated suggestions into our plans where possible. You can see some examples in this post where we've brought to life ideas from the Community last year.

It strikes me, in re-reading this thread today, that the original request was taken literally, as "we want to see the most recent comment at the top."ย But the import of this request is really: "we want the ability to sort comments in descending order by date."ย ย
Any developer familiar with Excel, email apps, Jira, and other applications that allow users to keep track of what happened when--and who read every supporting comment in the thread--should've been able to understand that sort comments descendingย was the actual ask--not just to have a quick way to see the most recent comment.ย ย
Those following this thread: if this is how you understood the request, it might be good to affirm it again.ย Some of the strange wrinkles in the thread (about nesting comment replies, etc.) show me that the developers missed the essential point of the ask.ย ย
Hi Joseph, thank you very much for your detailed feedback, I understand this change would be very valuable for you and your team. I'm afraid that at the moment we don't have updates about this option, however, your comments have been noted and our Product Team is aware of the popularity of this request.
We will keep you updated in case there are any changes implemented. In case you have any additional questions or if there's anything else we can do to help, please don't hesitate to let us know.
This is crazy that a simple view toggle for comments view (descending/ascending) is not yet available when reading thousands of pleading requests dating back 6-7 years. This must be some form of huge lift for Wrike; something that will break down their entire platform infrastructure if they do it. At least, that's what I tell myself rather than we're all being ignored. It seems like this would be a no-brainer, workflow 101. No? Headline... "Wrike introduces integrated generative AI to help you manage your projects... but we can't sort first to last".ย
Guy Swartz, this is what makes me wonder whether they missed the real ask--were they thinking, "gee, why would someone just want to see THE single most recent comment at the top, while all other comments are in ascending order?ย How are we going to accomplish that?"ย ๐

I assume that's you, there's 3 of you in their DB LOL SMH
I know why they are pushing AI & it's NOT GOOD. Do you know how evil AI is? I'm not talking about what they tell you they have like chatGPT which no one perceives as a threat.
Which reminds me, I have to upload that video from that AI expert.
Too much info & studying, so little time sigh
As for them ignoring, I've told them twice that they have connection issues (I think it only happens outside of the US, I'm not sure) & they ignore me. At least this last ticket which was at least 2 weeks ago.
I can barely work, it's ongoing & I never have this problem with any other site.
I just wrote to billing & never even got a response today & that's SALES. MONEY, but no one wants to make money anymore.
All companies will start to close down & there's a reason we can't get good customer service anymore.
This is all part of it.
Well I just responded to you Guy, & it's pending. So are they censoring comments now?

Hi Guy Swartzย Joseph Shuffield Michelle K. I'm sorry to hear this situation is negatively impacting your work. I understand it's frustrating not to see this option implemented the way you expected, please rest assured that we continue to share all your feedback with our Product Team.
We will keep you updated if there are any improvements implemented. If there's anything else we can do to help, please let us know.
Thank you!
YES! New comments sort to top! Please.
I'm here 7 years later and this much needed option still doesn't exist.ย I don't want to even use the comments section because of the amount of scrolling that would be required for folks to find the most recent one.ย Should be an option on how to display.
Carol Quinnย That is only 1 dog year, so might have to wait a bit longer....ย ย <s>.ย ย ย ย ย In the meantime, at least there is a "show more updates" and "last update" that will get you to the bottom....
Hi Carol Quinn, welcome to the Community. Do I understand correctly that the Last update button is not helping your team navigate the stream section?
Hi @Juan The last update button is not an ideal solution.ย Yes, it's better than having to scroll down manually, but I would prefer to have the last comments on the top by default (or the ability to set that as a preference)
Noted Carol Quinn, thank you for the additional feedback, I've passed it on to our Product Team ๐
My executive leadership team has been asking for the ability to sort the comments at the top. How do we get this back on Wrike's development plan? Do we submit a new product feedback and get votes on that?
I don't see the "Last update" or "Back to Top" in Tasks. Only Projects and CITs. Is that just me?
Hey Patricia Broder, thanks for your interest here! At the moment, our team doesn't have plans to further improve the current functionality ("Last update" and "Back to Top" buttons). However, we keep this thread open and continue sharing feedback here with the team.ย
Hi Laura Lysaght, I've now asked our Support team to look into this for you ๐

They always say "please rest assured that we continue to share all your feedback with our Product Team."
Yeah thanks for sharing to your product team, but can you also tell them to actually WORK ON IT?
Its baffling how this feature request was made in 2017 and here we are 7 years later, still waiting on the Product Team's action.
At least confirm that this will no longer be done and close this thread so we will no longer hope for it to be fixed "someday".

Basudha Sakshyarika Lisa any plans to introduce the "Sort Comments by Newest" filter in Wrike. Our team would find this incredibly helpful, it doesnโt really make sense for the oldest comments to be at the top. While there's the "quick scroll to latest" feature, it still feels inefficient and unnecessary when a simple sorting option could solve the issue.
Given that this request has been open since 2017 and has over 100 followers, it seems like a highly desired feature. It would be a great improvement for project management efficiency!
I agree with Lily 100%!ย
I also want the newest comments at the top.ย Just today, I got a comment and a task,ย i read the comment, and now i need to scroll back up to the task details, because its not a task I'm real familiar with, than scroll back down to re-read the comment and reply.ย Seems pretty un-intuitive to have it structured this way.ย I agree with the other users. Please give us a choice as to which way we prefer it.ย

Agree with comments to have most recent entry/comments on top...an important usability feature. "Pleeeeeeease!"ย Thank you!
