Account owners and admins can manage the visibility of all custom item types accross the account. Space admins can manage the visibility of custom item types in their space.
Note
On Enterprise accounts, user permissions for this functionality may vary due to user types settings.
You can make certain custom item types visible in the context creation menu and under the big + button at the top of the workspace to provide users quick access to these types. This way, when users create a new work item inside a space, folder, or regular project or task, they'll see the suggested custom item types in the list and can click one to create work.
Note
The suggestion settings don't affect the suggestion menu within custom item types. You can change the suggestion list of a type only by editing the custom item type.
-
Navigate to the relevant location: space, folder, or project.
-
Click the + button at the top of the workspace.
-
Select Customize this menu.
-
Click the toggle button next to the relevant custom item types. A white toggle means the type is not displayed in the quick menu, while a green toggle means the type is displayed.
-
Click Back at the bottom to save your changes.
Alternative Method:
-
Click the Item/+ Item button in List, Table, or Board view.
-
Click the blue drop-down on the right to manage custom item type suggestions.
-
Space-Level Adjustments: Adjusting suggestions while inside a space makes the selected types visible in all folders, projects, and tasks within that space. To change this, navigate to specific folders, projects, or tasks and adjust suggestions individually.
-
Folder/Project/Task-Level Adjustments: Adjustments made in a folder, project, or task affect only that location, alongside any general space suggestions.
You can also remove custom item types and regular tasks, projects, and folders from the suggestion menu. When you remove items, users can still use other custom item types by searching for them before creating work items.
