Exporting Workload Charts
TL;DR
You can export any Workload chart you can access to an Excel (.xlsx) file from the chart’s three-dot menu by selecting Export workload to Excel. Before exporting, you can choose the date range (1–365 days), whether to group data by People or Projects, the zoom level (days/weeks/months), and whether to calculate effort from filtered tasks or all tasks. The export includes effort totals, can include booked effort if enabled, and downloads automatically from a link in the popup. Exports are limited to 10,000 tasks, show effort only in hours, and do not include Backlog Box data.

The data in the exported file will look differently depending on the mode you selected in the export pop-up:
- Export in People mode:
- The data in the Type column is grouped by users.
- For each user, the total effort is calculated separately for each project and then grouped and tallied on a separate line called User total.
- There may also be a separate line for non-project tasks within the group.
- Export in Projects mode:
- The data in the Type column is grouped by projects.
- Within each project, the total effort is calculated separately for each user or job role (Placeholder) assigned to tasks in that project.
- It's then grouped and tallied on a separate line called Project total.
In both modes, total effort for unassigned tasks is calculated and displayed at the end of the table.
Note
- Both task and booked effort can only be exported in hours.
- The exported data is limited to 10,000 tasks.
- Backlog Box data is not exported.
