Deactivating Custom Item Types
TL;DR:
Deactivating a custom item type hides it from users without deleting any data. You can’t select it for new work, but existing items keep their type and fields. Use the toggle in custom item type settings (at either the space or account level) to activate or deactivate a type whenever you need.
